I'm going with an axe in the lefty n a sword in the right, with a bow & shield (for looks  ) strung over my back.
I've done Archery for 3 years (with longbows and recurve bows) and the speed of the arrow didn't seem out of place at all  /
Edit: also I loved when he backstabbed that guy (part2),

Really? I thought it was pretty damn slow... how fast is a longbow's average arrow velocity...?

Wow dude, I'm comparing it to my memories and to me it was fine (the Skyrim one, might need to refresh my memory of Oblivion),
An English yew longbow with something like a draw strength of 38lb shoots an arrow at an avarage of 172 ft per secundum
A bow with a draw strength of 25lb would only shoot at 136ft per secundum.
I shot at 100m-80m, with a longbow of something like 25-40lb so statistically it would take about 2 seconds for the arrow to reach the target. (for hundred meters)
Which seems about right,  . (Do note that every archer and not to have to mention, every bow differs, this is only the 'avarage' )

Annoying and makes bows feel less powerful. They were a joke in Oblivion without mods (or well, everything was)
For the first time in...ever, actually, I agree with Ivor. THe time arrows take to accelerate and fly seems fine to me. What bugs me is that the hit takes forever to register in the enemy. Like, smack, *checks watch, sees enemy still running towards, ppoison shoudl take effect just about...now. Enemy drops dead. lol

Yeah I just had a long discussion with my dad and came to the same conclusion... yeah the speed does seem right to me after all.
It is faster than in Oblivion though, of that I am sure.

You know, maybe I understand the dual magic working with buttons for each hand, but wouldn't alternating between two buttons to swing your swords be like the most awkward thing ever?

Hmm... depends... it works with dual wielding guns at least... played a few games that had that.
At first I figured that the best solution would be to just use the right button to attack and the left one to block... saves ya the whole coordination difficulty...
But then you know... you might have a strategy involving those two swords of yours... lower resistance enhancement on the left one and lightning enhancement on the right one... if ya can't choose which sword you strike with that part of tactics is lost.

EDIT: Btw it's about time that Tamriel started using crossbows don't ya think...? They were mentioned as experimental in Oblivion so... this game takes place a few hundreds years later

Ah... haha... never actually played Morrowind... ah that's hilarious 
Even less reasons not to include them... hopefully there will be an easy way for modders to implement new animations rather than having to replace old ones...

Yeah, I totaly remember crossbows in Morrowind. Am I the only person to have finished that game here? Wel, I guess I can't blame anyone not willing to invest the hundred or so man hours required to do it without a walkthrough.
EDIT: There were also spears and combat staves.

From what I've read it has way bigger variety of weapons... like spears and throwing weapons right?
Playing a hunter character with bows and spears... worshipping Hircine as ZEH ONE AND ONLY (coolest Daedra there is)... that would be awesome...

Well, so we get a weapon selection closer to morrwind's then?
Morrowind had throwing darts, throwing knives, shurikens, staves, crossbows, spears, wakizashis and katanas, on top of a huge variety of light armor, medium armor and heavy armor + everything else they had in Oblivion. .

When I saw that dude get stabbed in the neck I immediately conjoured up an image of Troy, I'm going to play some greek soldier in skyrim and wade through the entrails of my enemies, the Illiad has some fantastic battle descriptions, but I doubt they have spears in Skyrim

Yeah the weapon types are rougly similar to Oblivion's as far as I know...
It's not really that hard to get some new stuff in... I mean it'd be a problem to have 45 different skills for all the types, but something like a spear could definitely just be added under the 1-handed category, and you just need to add like 2 or 3 perks that support it in the tree.
I have this obsession with spears since I consider them like, the ultimate battlefield weapon... I play a lot of Mount & Blade online and these dudes run around with their shiny great swords costing like 700 gold and I come with my free sharp stick and own them. FEAR THE POKIE STICK is my warshout...
