I do miss the ability to mix potions where ever I please...sure the extra encumbrance is irritating, but it was nice to have the option. I already carry around a set of potion-making gear, what's a few extra pieces?

I've downloaded a mod that lets you make potions in the field. It adds a mortar and pestle to the game that is cheap to craft or can be bought in stores.

Field Alchemy

And Throwing Weapons Redux which adds alchemical grenades that you can craft or buy that scale with the alchemy skill. Other weapons like throwing knives, javelins and axes scale with archery.

Clicky

Also, I added a mod that lets you learn alchemical effects from recipes.

Thinking of Skyrim again... the planning stage of a character is almost more enjoyable than actually playing.

I wanna make a sort-of arcane duelist character with this equipment:

Fire magic wielded in off-hand, initaties combat with Arcane Assassin perk from Skyrim Redone granting him +75% sneak damage bonus on spells. Uses up all his mana and then switches to sword mode on things that are still alive.

He will be named Swagfirestab. Well maybe not.

Urgh limited internet so I can't really play since ALL my mods need updating and ****... still... I enjoy the planning stage.

My bound bow Druid because head of the mage guild at level 28.

I tried the true bound armor, robeless version, but it was raising the heavy armor skill so I stopped using it.

My druid does not really need the alchemy so its back to the drawing board for a more alchemy focused character.

I finally got started on the Dragonborn campaign with a vampire dark elf mage. At first I started on a shielded heavy mage Breton for anti magic purposes but I felt the urge to make a dark elf as that would suit Solstheim and I could finally try the vampire side of Dawnguard. In my first Solstheim quest I found two amazing items. A heavy lighting empowering mask for myself and the coolest twohanded sword Bloodskaal as a secondary weapon for either myself, Lydia or Serana.

One third Dragon, one third vampire and one third OP Dunmer mage... Miraak is already dead...

@Ad What's the sword mod? Currently for my rapier dude I have to use a baskethilt, but it's more of a broad-sword than a sleek stabbing weapon, speaking of stabbing, know any good "stabbing" mods? ( I saw one while looking for something else but can't find it now)

It's from this mod, it's actually a reimagining of the Blackwater Blade from Oblivion.

I changed the stats and named it Scarlet Blade though.

Wasn't what I imagined it would be from the pic. Far too heavy and felt more like a slashy thing like you said about your baskethilt. Also the Regal Huntsman armor above felt way more Assassin's Creed than I thought, so I couldn't use that either ^^ Went with a completely different character

Nope, no stabbing mods in memory.

Real Clouds add real, volumetric 3D clouds to Skyrim.

Which means you can get scenes like this that just appeared for me!

I think I'm going to take another shot at making a noldor guy, I had the weapons (elven warsword and some really sexy bows) however I could never find a proper armour mod, but the bosmer armour pack fits the bill perfectly. The elven sword is a 2h, but I'll increase its attack speed, but reduce its damage.

Was halfway to linking Bosmer Armour pack in my mind before I finished reading the sentence I like the way he incorporates it into the lore.

Beth needs to start taking its Bosmer more seriously, they're the most badass race of all in the lore but it's not showing in the game very well. Oblivion in particular just made a joke out of them Short and irritating.

**** yes! Though this is a sindar bow, not noldor, but who cares about semantics?

Edit, The bow is ok, but the arrows are horribly textured, nice mesh though.

My vampiric arcane warrior. With perks his dual Bound Swords can soul trap, absorb health and magicka, banish summoned creatures and turn the undead.

Need to learn to craft Dreamcloth gear to activate all benefits for that though... still a few levels away. Dreamcloth items are a thing Skyre adds that encourages mixing armor with clothing, Dreamcloth doesn't provide any protection itself but it boosts other protection you wear, and it synergizes with magic perks to unlock new powers.

All in all a very entertaining style to play. I'm considering delving into Alteration in order to access Blood Magic... it has a perk called Blood Wound that paralyzes everyone in its vicinity and drains their health. Very Dragon Age!

This will be my next attempt to make a more alchemy centric character.

Name: Sondil
Race: High Elf
Class: Transmuter

Background: Sondil was apprenticed to a transmuter in the Summerset Isles at a young age. Unfortunately his master seldom taught him anything anything of use and he was in reality a servant at best, at times more akin to a slave.

And so it was that he decided to strike out on his own and seek his fortune far from his master. His master's notes had vague references of ancient dragon burial sites in Skyrim and so he thought to conduct some field research at one of these sites if he could locate one.

Alas, as he was attempting to cross the border zealous imperial troops captured him near a camp of what was apparently a group of rebels. Though he was armed with only a dagger he used for cutting herbs and a backpack full of research supplies and rations his protests of being innocent fell on deaf ears and he was loaded in a wagon bound to share the rebels' fate.

Transmuter:

Transmuters are sages who study and transform themselves and the world around them through alchemy, enchanting, and alteration magic. They brave the dangerous wilds and venture into the depths of caves and ancient crypts to seek rare ingredients and forgotten knowledge.  The most accomplished transmuters move cautiously when conducting their field research and their stealth can rival that of the most accomplished assassin.

Don't mistake a transmuter as a helpless bookworm when it comes to combat. They strike from the shadows, wield powerful alchemical bombs, deadly poisons, staves, scrolls, and even magic to overcome their foes.

Their focus on alchemy, enchanting, and alteration magic means that transmuters have no time for extensive training in other schools of magic or martial arts.

Some transmuters chose to wear robes but others go lightly armored. In combat Transmuters are skilled with the daggers they use to harvest alchemical supplies, but have also been known to wield staffs, bows, and throwing knives.

Primary Skill: (caps at skill level 300)
Alchemy

Core Skills: (cap at skill level 200)
Enchant
Alteration

Secondary Skills: (cap at skill level 100)
Sneak (No backstab perks)
Speech
Light Armor
One Handed: Daggers and one handed staffs only, no dual wielding
Blocking: (with allowed weapons only, no shields allowed)

Miscellaneous skills: These consist of all other skills not excluded and cap at skill level 50.

Archery: Any bow is allowed, throwing weapons are limited to throwing knives
Two handed weapons are restricted to staffs and quarterstaffs.

Smithing: No perks allowed. Capped at starting value.
Heavy Armor not allowed:Capped at starting value.

Dusted off Skyrim today, Dragonborn spoilers ahoy!

Who else of you who played saw the old man's death coming a mile away? I do admit to being surprised though; I figured I was going to have to use my new Shout word to get the info out of him.

Beat down Miraak; thousands of years studying in Apocrypha is no match for my over-enhanced dragonscale armor, maxed combat skills and a slew of 50%+ boosting potions for same. Surprisingly easy fight. His gear in comparison stinks badly. I set it up in my house in Raven Rock on one of the mannikins; I think I'll move it to a different one though--right now it's staring at the bed which is just a little creepy.

I really wanted to make my duelist character work, but without proper stabbing animations (save modded ones) or any form of advanced parrying system I just couldn't make it work.

That said, I've returned to my katana wielder who is desperately trying to find a purpose in life, after having his memory wiped through countless years of being a blood mule to vampire group.
