"I don't think our two cueballs are listening, Mr. Fox." Edmund said, as he indicated Kane and Vlad. He took another gulp of beer.
"But it certainly is an enlightening tale you spin. Seeing how all three villains are in hiding, we need to draw them out and try to negotiate with at least Xion and Mallard. Any ideas how to do such a thing?"

"Yeah, I've noticed...." Jack Redfox answered Edmund.
"But it certainly is an enlightening tale you spin. Seeing how all three villains are in hiding, we need to draw them out and try to negotiate with at least Xion and Mallard. Any ideas how to do such a thing?"
I scratched my chin again in thought "How to draw them out, huh? But I got a better question. WHEN we have gotten them out how do we negotiate with them?" I asked.
"I could do what I was originally intended to. Bust up a few machines, that should get Mallards attention."
"That could work." Jack shrugged "But hey, I already know how to make Rex Mallard decide to play ball against Xion if needed. Problem is that we want either one of them fighting Ouroboros first, then each other! Or atleast that is how it goes in my mind. Getting either of them to attack Xion is easy, all I would have to do is put together a few nasty grey buggers who then goes and spit in the face of either Rex or Ouroboros and leave a sign "Xion was here" on their doors and off they go chasing him. Problem is to find Ouroboros to give that happy bomb to him BEFORE I send it to Mallard." Jack scratched his head and annoyed for being ignored I once again said, a bit louder, "And how are we going to negotiate with them?!"

"Hm, well, yes. I guess that I could track down Mallard easily enough..." Melony mused, half-drunkenly. "all it would take would be a few broken firewalls and... Who slipped Vodka into my wine...?"
"Now, whoever did that, it wasn't very gentlemanly." Miasma chided the rest of the heroes. "Anyway, Melony was trying to say that, given access to a laptop, she could track down this 'Rex Mallard' in a matter of sober hours. But it will require a list of last known places that Mallard was said to have been in. You know, for such an innocent little girl, Melony really is doing allot of illegal things lately..." Miasma glared at Kane.

I shaked my head "It is not "if he's as smart. It's "if he's is sane as he was back when Vlad knew him. I know of a lot of insane people who still are smart. They are too unstable to be negotiated with. But you might be right anyhow. So how about this: We draw him out by using Jack Kane here. We then check his sanity level, then we decide whether to negotiate with him or dress up like Ouroboros to scare the snow out of him!" I smiled under my mask and gave myself a pat on the back mentally before looking over at the corridor to the info bank "But I think I will get all cards on the table before I try to suggest another idea." And with that I was off towards the information center.

"I'm not claiming to be pacifist here, but if this Mallard has so many minions. Why don't we try talking to one of them first. I mean, isn't the Machine Mob a major player in the illegal arms market? There must be a way to talk to them without busting them up." Edmund put forth.
"Starting with violence may have the effect of him focussing upon us instead of Ouroboros or Xion for that matter."

The machines were looking for him. His quiet stay in an abandoned warehouse all these long years seemed to be coming to an end. It was time he took the fight to them. He was dressed in rags and had the appearance of a homeless man. It has been years since he ever had to change into his true form. The machines aimed their weapons at him, and one of them told him to stand down. Suddenly out of nowhere jumped a middle aged woman in cracked and broken armor. The machines tried to fight off this attacker, but they were burned quickly by her powers. It seemed she was trying to save him from those machines.
Foolish girl. It is you that needs saving.
He expanded, ripping his clothes in the process as his muscles and bones expanded. His skin turned blue and transparent as he felt power coursing through him. The beard he previously had was burnt off by the electricity that surrounded and enveloped him. Soon he was able to regain control over his powers and stood in front of the woman, leering at her.
She stood in front him, shocked at what she was seeing. That moment's hesitation was her undoing. Archon grabbed her and threw her into the water. He then shocked the water, but not so much that it killed.
Unconscious, she floated down towards a fishing pier where Minion stood, gorging on the flesh of a young woman. He picked up Iratus Virgo and jumped off to his hideout, saving her for later as he was full.

"Alright, that is a good enough point... Until it gets us all killed or arrested. Still, I think that the gargoyle does bring up a good point, Melony doesn't have to do too much fancy tracking online if we could just find a black market trade hub."
"Woah, the room is all..." Melony spoke through Miasma's control.
"D@mn, when she gets drunk it is hard to control her-"
Melony wrapped he arms around Kane's neck. "Let's go back to..."
"The apartment so that you can get everything we still need there and a few fresh changes of clothing. Melony, just stop-"
"Aw, but Miasma, I wanted to..."
"- you do not get to spend the night in some strange-"
"But mom..."
"- not your mother! Now stop acting so drunk and let me do the talking, ok? There is some chocolate in it for you..." Melony stopped trying to talk. "There, perfect. The next time one of you slips Vodka in her drink, be prepared for retaliation. Now Mr. Jack Kane, shall we go?" Melony held out her arm, following Miasma's instructions.

- I have good news.- Seth answered- We found that Volkov fellow you were searching for. And here's the best part. He's here in NC. Runs a business. A vehicle concern.
- Why it took so long?
- He changed his identity several times. Left false trails.
- What's the name of the company?
- Grakhov Motors.
- Really? Excellent. I'll be back in half an hour.- He hung up.
- Well comrades, I have to go. If anyone's interested in what I'm up to, watch the news tonight.- He said.- Dosvidania.
Vlad exited the club and waited for his Volga to be brought. After a few moments it was delivered to him. Before getting in he inspected it.
- Dalbajob ti nachui!- He shouted at the club's driver.- You scratched the door! This car's worth more than your whole damn savings! Pederast. Get out of my sight!- He said, and still swearing heavily he sat in the car and drove off.

Kane took her arm and let himself be taken away from the others. "I'll see ya all later on, alright?" he said to them. "Who slipped vodka into her drink?" he gave them a grin and then he were out of there with Melony. He helped her in a car and started back to his apartment.

Edmund watched the Commisioner leave the room and soon saw Kane, Melony and Vlad leave the club altogether. He was left with Redfox, Econ and Inferno. He took a large gulp of beer.
"So much for a united policy against the three greatest threats in out fair city." He stated cynically and shook his head.
"This is as much as we will gain towards any kind of alliance tonight, I fear. Nevertheless I stil have a question for you, Mr Fox. Lacking a base of operation, would you permit me to make use of your establishment for the time being?"

"There is Sidewinder's old hideout in the ghetto that I have inhabited. It's just a small apartment, but it is good to have a backup." said Inferno.
Lisa woke up in the middle of the night. Tiberius was still fast asleep. She pet his soft furry head for a couple of minutes, and then got out of bed and walked out of the room. She went into the dining hall and saw no one there as expected. She went into another hall with three doors along it. The one that was steel was Siegfried's she suspected as her door was also made of reinforced metal. She opened the second one in the hall. There she found a lounge with large comfy chairs and couches as well as a television. She closed the door and went on to the door at the end of the hall. She opened it and found a spiraling stairway that led down. She went down it and found another door also made of steel. However, it was slightly ajar. She went inside and saw a large room that seemed to have mirrors for walls. In the middle of it was a large bed that looked it must have been for a married couple. The floor was made of dark mahogany and a small crib was near the bed. There was also a small table near the bed with a large assortment of pictures. She picked up one of them. It had a man and a woman in their late twenties, maybe early thirties together with their arms around each other. The woman was also holding a little baby. She picked up the photo and put it in her pocket quickly.
"What are you doing here?" whispered a voice behind Lisa.
She yelped and turned around. Before her was Ouroboros without his mask. However, the shadows and darkness of the room obscured his face.
"I...I...I was just looking around." she said quietly.
"Curious I see. Well, head back off upstairs. Please don't enter this room again." he replied with a melancholy voice.
"Is this your room?" she asked.
"It used to be. Now please go back upstairs."
Lisa walked past him and rushed to her room. When she was in it and locked the door, she took out the picture and looked at it.
Who are you, Ouroboros?

For a while, both entities in Melony were silent, Melony just sitting slightly drunk and Miasma seeming to struggle with itself. "Kane." It finally spoke. "A word of warning for you, Melon is drunk, tired, has had an attempt on her life happen twice, lived through watching twenty-four people die in front of her and has had a man from her past who caused her intense emotional and mental trauma resurface without warning in one day. If you dare take advantage of her you will be dead before the sun rises, strong or weak, hero or villain. do I make myself clear?"
"Miasma..." Melony would have been too shocked to say anything even if had she not been drunk.
"No, do not try to argue for him. These are the rules as they stand." Miasma glared at Kane. "This is your only warning, do you understand?"

Edmund took Redfox' hand, carefull not to crush it or rake it with his claws.
"Let me introduce myself again. Edmund Moore."
He turned to Inferno.
"As kind as your offer is, operating from the middle of a residential area carries several risks. Like people trying to capture me for the local zoo or science facility. My appearance can be rather startling and lying low is the main priority."

"Ohh sorry." Jack smiled insecure again "I didn't catch your previous introduction, perhaps it was while I was at the door fetching The Commissioner and Econ." Jack let go of Edmund's hand "Edmund Moore, eh? Now that is interesting. Very interesting. If you want me to give you a tour around the facilities then we could go now. Or if you see want to get to your room, please tell me what conditions you like to sleep in and we'll see what we can do." Jack nodded twice to himself.

Edmund gulped down the last of his beer and put the tankard back on the bar.
"However at the moment I am more intrigued why my name is so interesting to you, Mr. Fox."
