Bludgeoned to death
I want to create my own set of factions, but I might be too lazy to do it in full and properly 
So for now I post a pic of a faction I have in mind. You can try to decipher who's who if you like. Sometime later I'll flesh things out.

well this is what i think:
from left to right
1) ghoul?
2 medusa
3 griffin with a lion's head?
4 centaur raider?
5 mummy
6 genie
7 efreet/rakhsasha
8 a human taskmaster with a steel body??
not bad....maybe u could change the mummy or ghoul? would add more variety. guessing no. 7 is the champion creature? how about a cavalry unit, like camel rider wielding dual swords?
inspired by Egyptian and Arabic folklore is it?

You got some right 
1) close but not ghoul
2) yes
3) no, and this is the champion
4) nope
5) yes
6 and 7 are the same creature, normal and upgraded efreet
8) no

I think that it's not a Griffin with a lion's head but a Sphinx. And about the "centaur" - it's not for sure, take a closer look - it doesn't have a horse part but maybe a lion's one?

#4 is a Wemic I think.
Now let's see, Wemic, Medusa, Mummy, Sphinx, Ifreet...I'm failing to see a common theme here. I mean sure, this'd be a great bunch of Desert Randoms, but all together in a single town?

The last creature reminds me of the Pit Lord from Heroes III because of the whip.

YES! That Champion creature is what a Manticore and Lamassu should look like, a LION head  not some idiotic, boring, and unfitting Elf face...

I as well agree with the observation posted above me, though I think at least the scorpion tail should stay and the wing can be cool in all regards, it really depends on the skill of the designer.

Mystical creatures, mostly evil: 3 undead, 2 demons, a sphinx and medusa.
