Heroes VI Artifacts

So it's pretty obvious what is this topic about. We have some artworks in the Artwork topic - we have Minor, Major and Relics that don't look that new. Let's discuss the looks of the artifacts and they could possible do.

So... Here are my thoughts...
About the Minor ones: the Book probably gives some primary spells like in the old Heroes games; the Boots are probably for more move on the adventure map; the Shield probably gives more defense; the Helmet and the Cloak may have Magic or Might abilities, it's hard to tell. They all remind me of the Items in Heroes IV.
About the Major ones: again Boots, probably they have a bigger bonus or another one; the Shield reminds me of a Heroes IV artifact, too, except Defense it may give Moral or Death Ward something like that; the purple Cloak for me is something with a Magic bonus and the blue one has a Might or a Might-oriented bonus; and the last one again reminds me of a Heroes IV artifact the Armor of Life so I guess that it gives Defensive bonuses and again some Wards, Blesses or so. I don't have ideas for the Glove.
About the Relics: another Book that probably gives spells, looks like it's Fire-oriented; a golden Glove that must be like an upgrade of the Major silver one; an Inferno-looking armor, probably it gives great bonuses to attack too, it may also give a Fire shield or something like that; another Cloak that looks magical to me so it must give some great bonuses in spell-casting or some other bonuses that are Magic-oriented; and, of course, the Tear of Asha is back, a Grail structure surely.
Overall - I like them. Looks like we are given the basic types of artifacts only. I can't wait to see more.

Most of the shown artefacts look like slightly reworked versions of equivalent Might & Magic VI - VIII gear.

Could it be posible every artefact (on the pics) to represents part of the group of the artefacts? Or they are just put randomly.

I imagine these are just samplings of the kinds of artifact designs we'll see.  They look pretty superb, though, and I can't wait to see what they all do.

I thought I heard someone say a while back that the artifacts in this game will actually change the appearance of your hero.  Did I hear that wrong, or was it just speculation, or is that actually something we can look forward to?

Yes, I think that there was something like that mentioned but I'm not sure if it's something actual.

Honestly, I can't see it being true.  The hero models we've seen already look pretty complete as far as equipment goes.  The most I could see is some recoloring of armor.  I'm not getting my hopes up, but that would be a nice change from previous installments.

Maybe... but only to a certain extent

I take that to mean "Your hero's weapon and shield might change, or his helmet might change, but don't expect a full costume shift every time you switch out your equipment."

And here I was hoping to see little badges of courage on my hero's lappel.

That's good to know, Cepheus - even if you can't tell us any specifics, the fact that it's being considered is interesting.

It also makes me wonder if special mounts (like the "epic mount" we keep hearing about in reference to the Collector's Edition) will behave in the game's interface much like artifacts, where you can change your mount to gain different sorts of advantages.  That would be a worthwhile addition.

That throws up a few interresting questions...

Exhausted after slaying the Broodfather of a Blackdragon lair who've stood guard over this priceless artifact for hundreds of years you enter their lair. You let the pitiful survivors of your once grand army with which you've once conquered numberless kingdoms take their spoils from the uncounted riches of the cave. But you move on knowing that all the gold in the Emperors vaults won't compare to what you've come here for...An artifact which was said to have belonged to one of the gigantic Demon Overlords of Sheogh before the Broodfather returned it to its people... Then you find it... The Dragonwing Mantle! Then you notice something odd it's...it's actually a Dragonwing Mantle. Uhh... you try to put it on but the buttons alone are the size of an Orc Brutes Shield...But you've not come this far and sacrificed so much just to be denied your prize!! "BRING ME MY HORSE!!"

Dragonwing Mantle - +3 Knowledge and +10% iniative to all flying creatures in your army. A long (far far too long) cape dramatically flutters in the wind behind you and you've been bolted to your horse in order not to be blown off, your movementspeed is reduced by 80%, you were once the menace of Ashan entire armies fleeing in terror simply due to your reputation, rulers across the land spoke only in hushed whisphpers of a man who had brought so many of them to the heel of the Griffin Empire are now the laughing stock of your peers and former enemies as an entire platoon of you soldiers have to carry your cape when you stop standing dramatically in the wind for effect and actually want to move like a bridesmaid in armour. Was the impeccable style worth it?

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHH!!!IMPECCABLE STYLE!
