something that makes me feel proud.

it's taken about 2 hours of sweeping glass to get my local street cleared, but man, does it feel good. Plus, for the first time in forever, I got to speak to my landlord again. the clean up made me feel part of a community, before I returned to the outreach centre.

also, I know there is alot of issues about discipline that people have raised, and I sort of agree. However, it's not that the parents are stopped from punishing their kids, but that ground rules and basic parenting advice isn't readily available. the parents are often single parents, and teenage, and at that age, it's difficult enough to look after yourself, let alone a kid.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a favorite target of international indignation for his saber-rattling speeches and his country's treatment of activists in 2009 democracy protests, landed his punch on Wednesday as Britain reeled from its latest night of trouble.

With tongue no doubt planted firmly in cheek, Ahmadinejad apparently made a speech to reporters in which he condemned Britain's police for brutality shown against "opposition" protesters, the official IRNA news agency said.

His comments followed similar condemnation by the Libyan regime of Moammar Gadhafi, which called for UK Prime Minsiter David Cameron to step down. With barely-concealed relish, saying he had "lost all legitimacy" because of the riots shaking Britain.

"Cameron and his government must leave after the popular uprising against them and the violent repression of peaceful demonstrations by police," Gadhafi's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaaim said, according to a report by the AFP news agency.

"These demonstrations show that the British people reject this government which is trying to impose itself through force," he said, urging the U.N. Security Council "not stay with its arms crossed in the face of the flagrant violation of the rights of the British people."

one part of me wants to go on about men in glass houses and stones (considering there was a whole green revolution happening) but another wants to laugh at the epic international troll that he is.

Also @Acu: not a chance. the more kids that I'm able to distract with drama, the less are out on the street getting hurt.

Imho, we should cut Iran from the rest of the world for a while, trade, information, diplomacy, just ban them for a few months, and then come back to pick up the scraps of its self-destructed economy and government. What he said makes no sense at all, he is a leader who is showing the world that he doesn't understand anything about foreign peoples or politics. It is extremely obvious that he is just trying, hopefully unsuccessfully, to create a feeling of animosity and hatred toward the government of Britain and its outmatched peacekeeping force (Who have been entirely too tame with this **** imho) through logic that does not make any sense. They're tearing down the city, brick by brick. They are doing this merely because they want to destroy or take something. The police force isn't allowed to use even rubber bullets, and is outnumbered by quite a large margin.

Ahmadinejad: Silence this fool.

He's trying to make a point , if the rest of the world can judge middle-eastern countries (not just them but you get the jist) and the way they treat people and demonstrations, they can do the same. Simples (not blind to the fact that he's a moron, just saying I would've done the same in his place)

One Russian media outlet reportedly described even more dramatic, if somewhat fictitious scenes, claiming that the looting of London's zoo had released dangerous animals onto the street. The Rossiya 24 report, picked up by the BBC's international news monitoring service, was denied by zoo officials.

I'm off to london for the free petting zoo...

Also blizz look at the comments .

What is happening in Britain is not a demonstration. In no way is what the police doing there the moral equivalent to how dictatorships quell people rioting who simply want freedom. In a demonstration you don't run over people with your car, beat up and steal from people, burn down buildings, break in shops, ect.

Yes, we do have every right to condemn the way dictators treat their people.

Yes let's all preach the coming of h6, parhaps that will stop the  uprising (Its' gone past being a simple disturbance)

And Elodin all I meant was he has no-more right to judge any other country and their 'problems' then 'you' do theirs. (you--as in all of you ) This is mainly a reply to Gnomes' suggestion to cut all communications with Lybia and et cetara.

I've stated it several times on the board, so it is no big secret. I live in the US, in the great state of Texas, God's country. Our state has a balanced budget amendment, no income tax, and we only allow our state legislature to meet once every two years unless the governor calls for a special session to deal with a specific issue.

Some nutter called ROCKY just hit a PENGUIN over the head with a CLUB and tied him to a WAGON WHEEL with a BLUE RIBBON.
Police have said ROCKY was last seen catching a TAXI to dam, where he drank BOURBON and had it off with a GINGER NUT.
Not a crumb of evidence has been fouind, so the JAMMY DODGER got away!!!!!!

Derp, no? I didn't say that... I said that there should be a world-wide ban on Iran for being heartless jerks, trying to overthrow peace and order and sew distension among allies. The only country that I would ban right now would be Iran because of their actions. I would say the same for Israel, but they are allied with us against Iran and don't have a dictator that the people protest against and try to overthrow...

For me? Originally from guildford, studied Drama in aberystwyth university, now volunteering in an outreach program in Plumstead.

unless you meant Elodin, who comes from the great state of Texas, home to Spill.com, Joe Johnson, Marzgurl and a man who thinks praying to god will solve the financial crisis.

People are trying to justify some of these riots in the worst possible way. I heard a man on the street shouting that it was "all th' blaady Poles fault! Camin' 'ver 'ere, Nickin' ar Jobs." Part of me wanted to yell back "No! It's the rioters fault for being a bunch of prats, and it's your fault for blaming people who actually work for a living!" I feel ashamed to say that I didn't, and got back to clearing up whilst he sat there and did nothing but piss and moan.

here is a list of a couple of explanations, take away what you will, but most of these ideas are coming from various corners of the press.

also this statement from the father of one of the murdered men in Birmingham had me tearing up.
