Yeah the world seems a bit too obsessed about it some times.

I also feel like the game missed out on part of the story that could've been very interesting... you see parts of how hard Jensen had it with adapting to his augs, but the game kinda skipped that part and got right into full-aug-assassin mode.

Could've made a very interesting Aug-tutorial mode... with the first tutorial being mostly a general-movement-and-interaction tutorial it would've been useful as well.

well, I felt more like an assassin in the 1st deus ex. in this one I feel more like a training target XD
well, actually adam fights better than JC but dies much faster also.

I hate pritchard. I guess it is a reference to Alex Jacobson who said that you understand very fast, except this time you get called a retard (well, in my case anyway)

it's weird also to feel right from the beginning that you are just sarif's puppet like some people say and that you will probably have to betray him (though, I don't know yet) whereas in the 1st one you had no clue and really were convinced to be the super badass antiterrorist specialist the whole world relied on.

also, the fact that there are more npcs seem to come with a drawbacks, there are far less individualities. I can not remember any of the non important characters, whereas in the 1st deus ex, I can remember many of them.

Installed the game a few days ago and so far it looks pretty nice but the stealth part is rather lame. You can knock out someone with several pretty noisy punches in his mug 10 meters away from his buddy and the latter won't notice a thing. Or walk in the open in "crouch mode" and be invisible to anyone who's more than 10-15 meters away and is not staring directly at you.
Other than that, the game looks better than in the pre-release demonstrations.

well the original one also suffered these problems. The foes wouldn't see you standing 10 meters in front of them. Even augmented MIB's and commandos.

Sure, but the original is 11 years old, quite a few things have evolved since then.

NO

well, that's funny to think that trying to do as good as a 11 years old game was a SNOWING CHALLENGE

I guess it's rather balanced by the fact that if they spot you, they one shot you. for some reason stealth seemed easier in the 1st, despite the absence of radar and of the 3rd person view. might be the fact that enemies weren't so numerous, or maybe that the chances to get killed once you were spotted weren't so high (well, actually you can still hide and wait until they go, that just seems a little bit trickier now)

Anyone knows where the games stores the security codes for doors, etc. when somebody gives them to you or you otherwise manage to find them? I can't find them anywhere and it's not like there are 1-2 doors which need to be opened in this game.

The codes are displayed when you bring up the password interface on doors/security systems and everything.

For example, if you're hacking someone's computer the password will be displayed under the person's name.

Also, you can check your journal for the messages with the passwords. It's the tab furthest to the right if I recall correctly. There's no need to read through them again though, as stated above.

I've not lost an oral brawl yet. (and I don't have the social aug) I was wondering if it's just designed to be easy, or I'm just good at it so far? (though, I'm probably still at the beginning, I'm supposed to go to china now)

I really don't like the Social Enhancer... tried it out and reloaded the save.

It makes ya focus on tiny bars supposedly representing character types rather than the words and expressions used by the person you're talking with.

It's not necessary at all either, I mean it's cyber-cool and all but... nah.

There needs to be shrinker aug, you are super stealthy but when enemies see you they can just stomp you

Also the social aug is kinda useless

I haven't tried it at all. so far I've upped hacking to level 4, I can carry the maximum amount of items because my backpack is always snowing full, can carry heavy objects, jump high, run fast, and I think that's all. didn't plan to pick fast running, but found out that it helped a lot against barrett...

I'm interested in stealth augs, but you 1st have to spend 2 points to know how much noise you make, and I'm really not interested in that

it's kinda annoying that weapon augs take so much room in the backpack, because I'm not sure on which weapon it is best to use them. in the PS2 version of deus ex it didn't take any room, and you could pick 4 weapons, whatever their size, they all used one slot (except the plasma pistol which also took no room) huh yeah, the inventory on PS2 was largely dumbed down, you could carry snowload of items lol, including for example ALL the melee weapons (though,, you might take into consideration that the dragon tooth could only reach a maximum of 15 damage per hit, making impossible to abuse it.

The Stealth Enhancer tree is useless really, though I find the Mark & Track Aug kinda cool so I use it anyway as a substitute for Smart Vision (which does the same thing but cheaper and better)

yeah, what I supposed. though, I suppose marking allows you to see the position of your enemies wherever they are, and not only when you stare in their direction. smart vision seems really easy to get. in the 1st game it was hard but worth it (though, the aug was pretty bad if not upgraded to the max)
