Jon van Caneghem : Exec. Producer of C&C Generals 2 !!

http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1214474p1.html

That's right, our god who left New World Computing back in the early 2000's has been hired by E.A. some years ago, and is currently at work to produce C&C Generals 2.

PS: Although it's quite obvious, JVC won't be a programmer like he used to be in his first games (d'oh!), but instead in charge of the production of the game.

It's sad when a creative person gets gobbled up by the Evil Empire. EA messed up Dragon Age 2 as far as I'm concerned. DA was so much better.

LOL YEH

Well, Paul Romero may not have played any Heroes, but he plays a very huge part to the epicness of the serie !

I may even say he is ten times better as a pianist / musician than Black Hole staff programming (lol easy one).

H2 - Knight, Necropolis, Combat Theme 3 (Opera mode, H2 OST)
H3 - Rampart, Necropolis, Combat theme 1 AND 2
H4 - Most of the themes are good
H5 - Rampart (Elves)
H6 - Haven

Yep. While I do like the recycling of the H2 music for Adventure Map (<3), it's hardly original. And the original themes are kinda meh and boring, other than perhaps Sanctuary's town theme.

Gaah,
I don't think Jon's stuck with a studio and actually finished a project since NWC, 10 years ago.  will he ever release a new game worth a damn, I just want to give him money for his work?

so maybe it's time for a HoMM spiritual successor kickstarter?

Read that linked article, well they listened which was good because the F2P RTS model is crap imo.

Well if there was an RTS version of HoMM, then JVC would be the one to make it since it seemed like there was a desire in the past.  Imagine also a MOBA game spin-off from a HoMM RTS ?

On the serious TBS side (either HoMM, or HoMM-like kickstarter), dunno if JVC still has any creative urge there, been a long long time though...would be interesting in any case [hate always online games (even those that limit you to one hero type per faction when offline), thought I'd put that in just for the heck of it].
