DoC Open Beta, some aimed release dates
The whole site has been renewed with the Open Beta Announcement. More info inside the web (They screw up the H6 site -.-).
Oh, and I've read about the aimed release dates for the three spin-offs (DoC, HO and Raiders):
- Might & Magic : Duel of Champions -> October 2012
- Might & Magic : Heroes Online -> Upcoming Winter
- Might & Magic : Raiders -> Q1 2013

I just realized how very similar Duel of Champions is to Magic... Red = Inferno, Blue = Sanctuary, Black = Necro, White = Haven and Green = Stronghold.
...
Maybe this is why there are only five factions.
Edit: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND I can't download it.

Well id say inferno is closer to black than red, with their uniqueness being discards (which don't happen to be as powerful here as in Magic since one usually gets 2 cards per turn instead of 1).
Game is pretty fun but lacks interrupts mechanic. When it's your opponents turn, you can do nothing but watch.
It would make it much more tactical if you had options to play even during that time, though I guess it would slow the game-play down a bit so it might be the reason for not including it.
Fresh start is nice, and we got nice 2 alternative-art cards for being in closed beta test. I wonder however, is there 1 more reset expected when game goes gold?

For some reason I cant lunch the game since I downloaded it two days ago.. Got in on the first day, but since then, when I lunch it zje patching process does not interact and the "Play" button stayes graied out.
I tried reinstaling the Luncher, and it tried to download the game again but had errros.
Then I tried to delet the game files and reinstal the luncher.. ended up in the original situation
Anybody can help.
Btw. should have tried Heaven this time. Inferno sucks at start

I get the error 'Application failed to initialize properly' whenever I try to launch it, any thoughts on how to fix this?

Really weird. I haven't had issues since open beta started (aside them having servers offline pretty much for the whole day 2).
I hate how one cannot pick stronghold as starting town, I had to save up and spend 75k on deck while i could have used that gold in strengthening it instead. Gold comes slow now that there is no more extra bonus at levels 5,10,15....
Anyway, for those able to play, feel free to add Yazmiel to friend list for a friendly duel now and then (too bad those aren't rated nor give gold).

Necro is beginning to grow on me though I kinda miss inferno's more offensive nature  Burn baby burn!
Btw is there a way to pick our banner?

Ya, while necro is interesting and fun, i find the gameplay to bee a tad too slow to my liking, which in turn means slower gold income.
Thats why i roll stronghold, it pretty much means fast win or fast loss.
I was wondering the same thing for banners, we seem to have random ones, mine is different than the one in closed beta, but i haven't found the way to change it.

Well you do gain some extra gold or xp for endurance or whatever. I have not quite understood what all the gold/xp gains are about but it looks nicely designed. Win or lose there is a sense of progression, otherwise the newbies would be slaughtered without hope of advancing fast. The campaign gives a decent amount of gold/xp and it is great that we got some extra booster packs to start with. Hope they do the same when the game is released. I remember my inferno start, it was rather painful.

So I picked Inferno and I find them kinda boring.
Guess I can't revert this choice now eh...
EDIT:
Damn... they've put effort into the artworks in this game. Stronghold in particular looks fricking delicious.

You will burn for your heresy.. Though admitedly their beginning is rather slow. After you pick some cards they are pretty fun to use with their aoe attacks and fiery nukes.
But anyway play through the campaign(2 of them are available, shouldn't take you long) and you'll have enough gold to buy a new deck soon. You could also trade your seals(you'll get plenty in the campaign) for gold but personally I'd get the 1000 seals first for the 100-card box and then buy the new deck.
But anyway your account will be reset when the game is released so nothing to lose if you wanna buy a new deck sooner

Yeah I got the Stronghold deck and had enough left to afford a couple of boosters as well.
Even got lucky and got a badass cyclops mutant hero riding an armoured rhinoceros. **** yeah.

Well since there are limited ways of killing your own creatures, I don't find that card too imbalanced. Also its rare so one cannot base much of the gameplay on it.
Cost 5 and more cards are supposed to be strong.

Lesse here...
1. Try another browser, might be some issue there.
2. Check if your Uplay username/password is correct.
3. Khorne is known to inflict technical difficulties unto the unworthy, the solution is blood for the blood god.
@Yasmiel: Well it's basically a free armageddon everything if you're in trouble.
That's just one card though, there's a reason why all the top players (read: people who want lots and lots of gold from wins) play Inferno. Their basic cards are simply better than those of other factions.
Later on, when people have gotten some more advanced stuff, it'll balance itself out a bit. But on this level of play, the Inferno starter stuff is simply superior.
