France poised to ban the words "mother" and "father"
Evidently the words "mother" and "father" are offensive to the gay community in France. God/nature intended children to have a mother and a father. No amount of pretending will change the facts of life.

On one hand, you have equal rights and equality... but then on the other hand there is this thing called "Pushing the envelope over the cliff and into the fiery gates of hell." Banning two non-insulting words used in every day is not an equal rights push, it's a push for moving discrimination against the majority of the population. Sal, what's going on over there man?

Doesn't sound apocalyptic to me.

I'm not sure I see the point.
and once again, maybe the church should care about its own problems instead of the private life of people.

Dis, really. It's much ado about nothing and removes gender from the equation entirely when, in fact, gender does exist in every society... denying it is just being sort of silly. I wasn't being as "Gloom and Doomy" as I sounded, I swear.

What is wrong with these people?
You ban the first two words that babies learn just because of the gay marriage.
There were and will be gay marriages, but do you really have to push it that far?
What will be the first words that a baby will say? Female parent!, male parent!
I saw something about 3 people living as a family - two men and one woman. The men were bisexual, but the woman was completely Ok with it. There was the fourth member in the family - a teenage boy. Did he call them parents? No, he called them mum and dads.
I really don't see a reason for banning these words, but who knows - maybe we'll have no right to say food one day?

Well I guess ya cant call 2 men a mother & a father & vice versa for 2 women.
Unless ya want to call mother to the wimpy guy & father to the toughest of the women
I stopped tying to make sense of the cultures of different countries, just the same as the US & how dif we can be.
I respect all countries with an understanding that every country has different beliefs.

Couldn't find any link in french about, but would not surprise me if it happens. The actual socialist government has a pathological obsession for the political correct and will spoil a majority for removing minority discrimination. The whole gay marriage should be handled under new laws, without butchering traditional family values.
Probably the two next words to ban will be penis and vagina.

They dont "BAN" the words mother and father from being used in public, they just remove them from official documents.
I do however find this dumb because every human being has a mother and a father. Removing these because Gays feel offended is just arrogant and pointless.
Being in denial is a thing that is promoted nowadays, no wonder people are arrogant nowadays.
Its just another concession to the whine-prostitutes of europe.

There is no way it succeeds (this or anything else). You all just have no idea how socialists and Hollande work:
a) What could we propose to show our generosity, humanity and fairness
b) This
c) ok, now let's discuss the project, first session in 10 months
[...few years later...]
d) hmm, we can't agree on, what about a referendum?
e) French people not agree because they are angry with other issues and don't care about gays right NOW.
f) Project is abandoned but they feel proud because they had the idea, so both sides feel protected.
France already had socialists governments, and not a single reform was completed, but thousand proposed. I would be surprised it changes now.
