As Rosina neared the frozen man, she discovered exactly what was supposedly guarding it. A small white dragon, laying curled around the man, pretty as you please. Unfortunately, that means that her illusion is .. pardon the phrase, so much smoke in the wind. Dragonsight would see right through it. For some reason though, the dragon doesn't seem to be interested in Rosina..in fact if anything the dragon seems..sad. It is lying there, its head on its claws..sighing.

Rosina landed some yards away from the dragon, knowing something of the race she knew her powers were no match for it. She also knew some among them spoke her several tongues, so she would try the peaceful way.
"Hello honored dragon." she said, trying a gentle smile. "Could I so bold to ask if we could borrow the Axe you're guarding? We need it to save the world from Malbozia."
She figured lying to it would be of no use, so she went with the truth, though ready to disappear on a moments notice.

In perfect Fae the dragon replies "You should try your native tongue, it is much more elegant then the humans. As for the Axe.." the dragons head turns to the side, looking at a chain on its tail. "I am bound to guard it from any who try to take it as long as this chain binds me. The chain is near indestructible, as it becomes immaterial whenever it senses an attack coming its way. Only somebody with great stealth can fool it."

"I come all the way down here, expecting for some action and all I get are some demon lepers? There is no challenge in fighting lepers, no glory either." Jack sighed, "Let's just get this over with quickly and move on."
Jack spread his hands to the sides and began his transformation. His elegant clothes turned into rags, his skin became cloth with straw sticking out of it in several places. His cane, which he carried strapped to his back changed to resemble a simple stick and the jewel on top of shattered into several small will 'o' wisps that circled around him. Lastly, his head transformed into a big glowing pumpkin.
"I do hate this form, but if I must, then I must. Now then."
He looked around. There was a moment of silence.
"I don't suppose there's a farm around here?... I mean there are all these vines, but they're so uncultured, I don't think I would enjoy controlling them..."

"No farm," says Hilda as she gains height and weight becoming a rather ugly looking troll, "but we have trees." She pulls a rather large one out of the ground. "Only good for a couple of hits before we have to toss them aside and grab a new one..but better then nothing." The guy also changes into a troll. "We do a lot of damage with weapons."
Rosina
"The chain will force me to attack any who try to remove the Axe. If the demons come down here, I have no qualms about fighting them. If you try to remove the axe, the chains will make me kill you as long as they are on me." This is said matter of factly, not as a threat or aggressively.

"Oh." Rosina whispered, looking sad. "I wish I could help free you from the chain, it must be a nightmare being stuck like that, forced to kill anyone who approaches."
Then without a warning her wings flashed out and the surroundings were covered in bright lights and she flew toward the axe, dozen of illusions of herself choosing a different path than the one she had picked herself. She flew in a wide arch, trying to keep some distance between herself and the dragon, while some of the illusions flew in an arch the different direction, some flying straight for it and so on. She hoped it would be enough to confuse and occupy the dragon so that she could get to the Axe.

Vince nods and tries to run as fast as he can to get the cross. He looked back only once, just to make sure that no demons were following him.
Get the cross! Get the cross! Get the cross!, he thought while runing. Wait, I'm not thinking about girls for the first time! Oh no, there it is again... I should really see a therapist about my... condition. PONIES AND HITLER! Yes, Ponitler, that sounds reasonable and smart - just like the alien rock soup company! And the weather is rather angry and very friendly. That totally makes sense, yeah it makes a lot of sense and you can't argue with that! "YOU CAN'T!!" Never argue with your brain because it will beat you to death and you'll die from inside. It's a very horrible death alright. HITLONIES! "Mwahahahahahahaha!!"
After a rather creepy inner monologue, Vince finally makes it to the cross. He looks around to see if there are any demons waiting for him.

The bad news is, the illusions are useless against a dragon. Not only do illusions have no smell, which dragon senses are very acute, but dragonsight sees through any illusion. However, it DOES fool the chains, so the dragon does not react. You get the axe in hand, and realize that the chain's magic can be fooled by illusions. A dragon is a very handy ally in any fight..

None of the demons have made it to the Cross yet, and your partners are pretty much making sure they don't. You have never seen people move that fast..it is like they are just a blur. Demons just suddenly sprout claw marks, or their heads go flying, or such before the demons can blink. You do hear a screech..and a figure appears. A 15' tall demon with large batwings..one hand carrying a sword made of fire, and another holding a mace that looks like it is encased in Ice..it appears as if one of the Lieutenants has arrived.

Rosina, not personally knowing anything about dragonsight or dragons in general, retreats to a safe distance before turning toward the dragon again, the illusions disappearing. "Alright, what now? What will happen to you once the artifact you are to guard, is gone?"

"I will be stuck here, guarding what once was a man who is now trapped in ice..until I either die of old age or am killed. I will have to wait for somebody both stealthy enough, and brave enough, to remove the chain."

"And here we were expecting a ride in the park." Ben remarked with not a little sarcasm.
Putting his whip away, he now drew his sabre. Something better suited for the relatively fragile environment of the museum. Many things of Ben's childhood made much more sense now he was the Headless Horseman. His father's insistence on taking up fencing for instance, as he slipped into a comfortable offensive stance.
Over the last few days, Ben had also gained some more mastery of his abilities. The intensity of the fire of his pumpkin head for instance. Where it had been a faint glow when they had been outside, it now leaked flame out of the eyes and mouth. Though he doubted that it would intimidate the demon much, every little thing that could help was worth the try.

Mitch paused a moment, calculating a flight path for himself. It didn't take too long before he was airborne, heading for the central chamber. Though the path was large enough for him to fly through, some of the turns were a bit too sharp. He had to fly into a wall, and then push off to continue on a few times.

Vince watched as the creature appeared. That "thing" could kill him before he has time to say "Golem".
If that demon sees me, well, I'm better off dead.
Not wasting another moment, Vince grabbed the cross and ran for the exit.

"Oh, fine. I'll give it a try. Disgusting jungle plants - no cultivation, no culture! That's what I always say."
Jack focused on the rich vegetation around him. The vines started to move. He felt better with cultivated plants, and even with them he didn't have a lot of practice, so the process was very slow. He focused on one demon. The vines still moved slowly, but fast enough to catch up to the demon and entangle his fleshy form.
"Oh yeah! I got one! Did you see that? I..."
Jack's voice trailed off as he saw the trolls wreck havoc around him, crushing demon after demon.
"Bloody showoffs."

You close with the demon, but something passes through you and begins to taunt the demon. It is the ghost girl. He swipes at her and passes right through her. "OOO strike one!" she taunts him. She picks up an broom and starts harrassing him with it. He roars and swipes at her again..going right through her again. "OOOO strike two!" It is comical to see the demon trying to hit her, and passing right through her..but at any moment it could turn serious. As soon as he figures out WHY he can't hit her ... she will be in trouble.

The male troll says in a gruff voice. "Get between us and keep them off of our flanks." Working like that you are able to get to the aztec temple. Where the Lemures break off. Not because a lieutenant or general shows up though..you would swear they are afraid of the temple itself.
You see a man with a bone mask standing atop the pyramid, wood staff in hand..he is bare chested and has red paint on him. A necklace of what is probably feline teeth is around his neck. If demons fear him, there is probably a dang good reason.

You make it out of the trap without much problem, as the large demon was more worried and focused on Vlad and Mina then you. You have the oddest feeling that neither Vlad or Mina will make it out of this place alive. The cross is surprisingly light..even for your human form..because one you hit the street it would not be wise to be in your current form.

You come to the center of the pyramid, and sure enough the item you seek is at it's center. So is a Sphinx. As you approach, the Sphinx turns to you and says "Come closer, I have wisdom to pass on, but it is for your ears only."

Jack celebrates, oblivious to the real reason of the demons' retreat.
"Yeah! That's right! I guess now they know not to mess with... Oh, bugger." He finishes as he sees the figure at the top. "And just who might you be?"

He says something, and you know you should not be able to understand him..but yet you do. "The others I can not let pass, but prove your worth and you will be allowed in. You are a spirit of the plants, face me and prove your heart is strong." Which really is not an answer, but he leaps down to you..a leap that no human could even consider making. He lands easily, in a combat stance. "Come spirit, defeat me if you can."

He stepped forward slowly and cautiously.

Marten the dragonfly took off, slightly disoriented since this was his first time flying, and landed on the dashboard of his target vehicle. To be honest, flight had been horrifying so he needed a second or so to recover. Hopefully, Helsing and his partner would be able to provide ample distraction.
