Speeding along on her bike, Alexia quickly reached her destination – the local post office.  It was situated on the other end of the city far from the towering buildings.  Alexia parked her hover bike in one of the empty parking spaces.  The place looked pretty abandoned.  Not many people uses traditional mail box, but for Alexia and her clients, using the traditional mail system was a perfect cover for the business.

She dismounted the bike, removed her helmet, threw the cigarette and spit.  Then she approached the clerk behind the glass counter.

“Alexia Evans, 0536,” she said to the alien.  The alien responded, “I.D. please.”

She took a chip from her pocket and handed it to the clerk giving the alien a stern look.  The clerk handed her back the chip after confirming it and gave her a nod.  Alexia took it and walked near the entrance.  The door automatically opened as she approached.

Alexia walked over her box and waved the chip.  The box popped open with a discreet beep.  A white envelope welcomed Alexia.  She noticed a symbol etched on the envelope and recognized it was from her avid client, Vykyun.

Vykyun was a Thoran underground businessman.  Although Thorans were known for excelling in assassination and stealth skills, Vykyun did not possess them.  Instead, he excelled in trading and the like.  Vykyun hated those who meddled with his business affairs.  And most of the time he wanted them dead.  So the alien constantly hire her to kill his petty enemies.   Alexia thought that some rat had meddled again with Vykyun’s business and the Thoran wanted it wiped out.  She took it and headed towards the exit.

Outside, she sat on her bike and lit another cigarette before opening the envelope.  Inside, she found a photo of a black human male.  The shot was taken while the man was exiting a building. In front of him, a dense crowed could be seen.  The man had a heavy build and wore working attire.  A wicked smile appeared on Alexia’s red lips followed by a wicked laugh.

“Easy target,” she said to herself.  That one photo gave her all the details – the place, time and the target – all the she needed to know to get the job done.  No text, no numbers or any other information were included in the envelope – just that single photo and she’s all done.  With that, Alexia mounted her bike and rode back to her apartment.

When Alexia reached her apartment, the first thing she did was check the time.  The place where her target works was located far from the city and it will cost her hours to get there using just her hover bike.  But it was still early and she still had extra time.  She opened the fridge and took two bottles of beer then sat on the sofa bed and lit another cigarette.  She observed the clock as it ticks, sipping the bottles of beer slowly.

When the clock hit 16.45 she decided she was ready to go.  She approached an old looking metal cabinet that stands 6 feet high.  Inside, a collection of dresses could be seen, party dresses.  She placed her hand behind the dress and reached for the hidden keypad.  She typed the code to reveal the voice and eye scanner.  She spoke the passcode and scanned her eye.

After confirmation, the back of the cabinet opened into another room.  Bright lights lit the room as she entered.  The door closed behind her shutting out all sounds from the outside world.   It was the secret room that contained the tools of her trade.

First, Alexia donned a bodysuit.  It was black and form fitting that traced her bodily curves seductively.  She opened a compartment containing her collection of knives.  She took one of the smaller ones, her HWD-AC3, and attached it to her left wrist. Then she covered it with a special black leather glove. She grabbed a black leather duster with hood and tossed it on.

Alexia decided not to bring more equipment for she wanted to make the job discreet.  One knife was all she needed to end that man’s life anyway.  Now, she was fully equipped and ready to go.  The b*tch next door was now an assassin.

------

The assassin leaned on the wall of a store across from the large metallic building.  Smoke from her cigarette poured from under the hood of her duster.   She focused her eyes on the elevated door in front of the building.  Several people of different races came and went, but most were exiting building.

The assassin pulled her sleeve and checked the time.  Her holowatch showed it was 17.00.  Sooner or later her target will be exiting that building.

After a few minutes, a black human male left the building, heading down the stairs.  He looked to be in a hurry.  The assassin’s almond shaped eyes narrowed as she spotted her target.  She tossed her cigarette and followed the man.  He then mingled with the dense crowd in front of the building.  For most assassins, this was a hard time to kill the target.  But for her it was an advantage.

The dense crowd gave the fat man a hard time walking in the streets, while the assassin’s slim body slid easily through the crowd.  It didn’t take long to catch up with him.

When the assassin was inches from her target, she placed her right hand onto his shoulder, tapping him while sliding the knife from her left wrist into the man’s back.  The hidden knife easily found its way into the target’s heart severing the Aorta as she pulled it out.   As the knife retracted to the assassin’s wrist, the special glove wiped the knife clean, removing any traces of blood; done nice and clean in just a few seconds.  The black man felt a pinch and looked back finding nobody there.

A loud scream from the crowd echoed on the street.  It was the voice of a shocked female.  The female’s shoulder was covered in blood as it began dripping to the ground.  Behind her the victim had fallen against her, with blood running between his now dead lips.

The crowd started backing away from the dead man.  The assassin mingled with the crowd blending in, as if curious to know what had happened.  But under her shaded hood, a wicked smile emerged.  She watched the scene and admired her perfect work; another successful job, another pay day, that easy, that simple and that boring.  Before local police arrived, the assassin had already fled the scene.

------

It was past 22.00 when Alexia made it back her apartment.  Outside her unit door laid a bag with a single flower on top. She grinned at the sight; she knew her payment had arrived.  She picked up the flower first and smelled it when a hologram popped up from one of its petals.

“Hey honey,” an image of a Thoran displayed in the hologram. “Meet me at Le Deche’s court, 23.00, don’t be late.  I’ll wait for you there.”

Alexia’s eyes narrowed.  It was her client, Vykyun who wanted to bed her for a long time.  Without much interest, she threw the flower away and picked up the bag of money, being careful not to trip the secure-tab just yet.

Inside, she opened the bag and stacked the money into storage in her secret room.  She noticed that her savings was dwindling.  She wasn’t getting as many contracts as before.  Her delicacy shop earnings which were also low this month won’t be able to compensate her luxurious lifestyle of parties, booze and drugs.  It annoyed her.
She opened the fridge and grabbed a can of beer after turning on her SAC which also worked like an answering machine.  The SAC lit up and beeped.

A voice of a young lady was emitted by the communicator.  “Alex!  Party tonight at –”

“Next,” Alexia commanded that SAC not wanting to hear the whole message.

Another voice went out from the SAC,”Ms. Evans, I want to orde–“

She recognized the voice was of Mrs. P’pala’s and immediately told the SAC to skip to the next message, while she chugged her can of beer.

“Um, I wanted to order –“

“Next!” she shouted at the SAC, for it wasn’t the message she wanted to hear.

“Hey, Alex,” a voice of a young man went out from the communicator.  Alexia turned as she recognized Tony’s voice.  “I’m breaking up with you.  It’s not gonna work you know.”

Alexia rushed towards the SAC.  She expected Tony to say more but that was the end of it.

“What the f*ck, Tony!”, Alexia screamed, crushing her half-full can of beer.

Angrily, she grabbed the communicator and threw it hard on the wall.

Tony was the 15th man she had this year and that was the 15th communicator she broke due to throwing it away.  Tony and her were just weeks old. The break-up didn’t really matter to her.  The crushing and the throwing was just a part of her impulsive personality.

It was always had been like this to Alexia and she was used to this.  She didn’t shed a tear. She wondered to herself when she last cried.  She couldn’t remember anymore, probably more than a decade or two.

She started to smoke again to calm her feelings.  But then she remembered another breakup,   a break up more heart aching than Tony’s or anybody else.

“That b*tch,” she murmured, scowling with her teeth gritting as she cursed the girl who caused it.

Her expression turned very serious as she absently crushed the cigarette with her bare hands.  She didn’t even notice the burn.

Not knowing what to do next, Alexia fixed herself and decided to go for a night ride.  She did not feel like partying tonight and she couldn’t go to her hangout places because Tony might be there and she might want to kill him.

She grabbed some drugs and brought them with her in case she wanted to get stoned at some place she found.  She also equipped herself with her favourite weapons, the Double D’s and her trusty SharpEscape 99 combat knife which she hid secretly and securely behind her black leather jacket.   She was on her way out when her door bell rang.  Normally, she’d check the monitor but this time she just opened the door.

((Hey Joonas, here's our scene.))

Outside she found a slim man with a wild violet hair.  She raised an eyebrow, wondering what the hell this guy was all about.  She inspected him from head to toe with a critical eye, her hands resting seductively on her curving hips.  Then Alexia spoke.

“Uh, what ‘ya need?”

"Aww, you're sweet dear." Fenix said, setting the schematics inside of the crate. "I think it would be for the best if I took you up on your offer." The weapons themselves would probably have to be modified as well to fit inside of the imperial armor. Having them would make the job easier. "Besides, I need to get outside more." She led him back to the store-front floor and closed the weapons cache behind them.

Her ship door opened the instant her right hand touched its hidden pressure plate. "Lead the way."

The woman who answered the door was not how Yed had imagined the baker to look like. He had also not imagined that she would have two, that were likely pistols, on her either.
"The hag at Jeffersons told you're a mean cook. I see now that she wasn't lying. Do you often need to fend off potential customers with your trusty girls?", he said, grinning.
Alexia’s painted eyebrows met each other at the slim man’s comment.  She already knew he was talking about the guns behind her.  How he knew didn’t bother her.  Instead she went on alert.  This man was not the some local hay picker.  She discretely slid her hands to the guns at her hips. “Again, what do you need?"
"As I said, I've heard you can turn up some fine bakery. I'm having a small get-together tonight and I have food but I'm missing the finer side of things. The thing is, we'll be starting in about an hour, with food naturally, so you'd only have till twenty-four, preferably half twenty-three to get them there. That's only a little over an hour away, can you do it?", Yed didn't seem to be phased by her motion to reach for her guns.
Without removing her stare at the man, Alexia replied with disregard, “Of course, I can. Address?”
"At the launchpads near Dex's place. It's the crescent shaped small transport craft, red and black. You can't miss it.", Yed said as he turned to leave. The woman just slammed the door as he left.

Yed arrived at his ship quarter to twenty-three. He entered his ship's third hold to make sure everything was in order. His ship had four cargo holds, the two middle ones, second and third, were 12 meters wide, 4 meters high and 14 deep. They were also mostly square in area unlike the two cargo holds at the sides that were diagonal in shape, 8 meters wide, 3-2 meters high and 12 meters deep. Each of the cargo holds had connection to it's neighbouring wing hold by a sector wall that could be fully or partially opened and had it's own boarding ramp that could be opened if needed. The one on the left wing was his garage where he kept his vehicles and most of his gear but the rest of the three were empty for tonight. He had prepared the two on the right for the party, with a larger table in the bigger hold and a few smaller gambling tables in the wing hold next to his living quarters. The food and drinks had been delivered and he had made sure that the better whiskey was in his personal bar.
"Give level one access to all visitors for tonight. Level 2 for the Thorian.", Yed commanded the ship's computer.
"Level one access to all visitors allowed till 0600 hours. Level 2 access to Thorian, specify further?", the synthesized voice answered him.
"Thorian is enough", this would give access to non-critical doors for the visitors as well as the permissions for Harbyx to utilise the ship's systems besides of weapons and flight controls for his needs.

Darius kept the gun after the injured criminals ran away. It was a standard pistol that one sees on the streets often. Not waiting for the violet haired man, Darius decided that his time would be better spent leaving behind a trail for the Hunters to find the last Molleone. He walked back to the launchpads and into his ship.

"Astro, can you bring up that Hunter frequency I found last week?" Darius said as he slumped down at the helm chair.

"Yes, sir." replied a synthetic voice that belonged to the ship's A.I. "Where should I trace it from?"

"Anywhere. Just not here. Try the restaurant."

"As you wish. Trace is planted."

Darius plugged in the recorder that Antone had, edited himself out of the sound feed entirely, then uploaded it onto the frequency. With any luck the Hunters will look into it and apprehend Antone Molleone properly. Darius poured himself a small glass of scotch, then looked out of the ship's window. Yed approached the larger ship directly across from Astro and went inside. From what Darius could tell, Yed was preparing for something. Some sort of conference? No, that's too formal. A meeting or gathering of some sort then, maybe a party.

"Astro, did you find anything on the receiver, by the way?" asked Darius.

"Nothing to be concerned with." Astro replied. "Just the encryption key."

"Well copy that to your files. I want you to be able to get whatever I get. Just make sure that it stays masked here."

"As you wish, sir."

Harbyx drove the armoured truck to the launchpads. He disliked wheelers, but in this case there was little other choice. Hovertech was rarely used for cargotransport and armoured hover vehicles were entirely unheard of.
He parked the wheeler several blocks away from the launchpads, in an alley so it was barely visible from the street. Having it too close to the ship might arouse unwanted attention and suspicion.
Before he exited, he rolled up the sleeve of his casual outfit. There he strapped the sheath of his Khukuri to his arm, inserted the knife in it and rolled his sleeve back down. Just in case. The he opened a compartement and took out a tube of tablets and swallowed a handfull of them. The tablets would counter the alcohol he would inevitably consume. Lastly he took the syringe with the drug inside and replaced the needle with one that contained a nanoreciever so they would be injected at the same time. He put it in his pocket and exited the vehicle. He locked it down and strolled down to the launchpads.

As Harbyx walked up to the ship belonging to Yed he put his HMD over his eye. He was early, he needed to talk something over with Yed before the party started. As he was about to contact Yed to be let in, the ramp descended of it's own initiative. Harbyx shrugged and strolled in.

At the imperial palace...
A private audience was held in the throne room. The empress and the general listened to the report of one particular senator.
- So senator, you say that the rebel commandos will attack Marasus?- The empress sounded curious. a black veil covered her face. she sat at the throne fairly relaxed. a glass of wine was resting at the table nearby her.
- Yes my empress- Said Maros.- The dissidents there will prove valuable assets to the growing rebellion.
- Execute the prisoners!- Yelled general Krios.- If what we've heard so far is true, we cannot allow them to gain more strenght!
- No- The empress said calmly.- Then they'd knew that there's a traitor in their ranks. And we cannot let that happen now can we?- She took a sip of the wine. We must come up with a ruse to trick them. set a trap. If possible capture some of the higher rank rebels leading the assault. See to it general.
- As you command my lady.- The general bowed down.
- Your loyalty shall be rewarded senator Virennak- Said the empress.- The empress before the family, right? Otherwise you'll suffer the same fate as councilman Chevlov.
- Absolutely your highness- said Maros and bowed down. The empress gestured to leave. The audience was concluded.

Back at Lyra Secundus...
Sage and Dorian were back at "Sweetheart". Dorian was locked up in his room for reasons Sage did not dared to ask. He always was angry when Sage questiond him about that. She did knew that he was searching for something in the archives, but what was it exactly, she couldn't say. She decided to look into the information in the data cube she received. these cubes were the latest forms of storage deivces, and were fairly expensive. Sage putted the cube into the adapter for her wrist computer and opened the cube. it contained a letter from the councilman Chevlov, a fairly high ranked official and a rebel supporter. there were also video footages and photographs. also a batch of files labeled "For Hawken". Sage opened the letter. Though it was short and appeared to be written hastily, she was highly surprised of what she read:

Shasnavi,
If you're reading this, I may be as good as dead. I have vital news concerning your father and his involvement in our cause. I've gathered proof that he is conspiring to betray us all. I do not know where on when, but you better be on your guard. I also found several files that'll help persuade your partner to join our cause.

Be carefull.

Ivan Chevlov

She downloaded the footages and images to her computer, leaving only the files meant for Dorian only in the cube. She went to his cabin and knocked heavily on his door. The door opened and Sage founded that she was pounding Dorian's chest instead of the door.
- For the f£$%ing love of god Sage, didn't I told you not to disturb me while I do my searching?
- Urgent- She showed the cube into Dorian's hand and hastily ran to her room. Dorian was left standing in the corridor, looking at the cube and scratching his head.

Edited by JoonasTo at 00:47, 15 Jan 2013.

"Male thorian has entered through the crew ramp, level 2 access granted according to protocol.", the ships computer noted.
Yed walked to the the crew ramp, located in the front of the ship, to greet Harbyx.
"Welcome, you can access the ships systems on user level till 0400. Would you like a tour of the ship?", Yed asked.
"While we're at it, sure, why not. It never hurts to get the lay of the land, so to speak." Harbyx replied.
"Great, were now behind the cockpit, here." Yed projected the layout of the ship from his wrist computer and a red dot placed them just between the two engines and the cockpit. "The engine room is behind us and to both our sides are the cargo holds. They're spanned along both wings and to the left beyond the two cargo holds", the projection zoomed and flew through the corridor running on the front side of the cargo holds up to the tip of the wing. "is where the auxiliary systems are situated. I also use the leftmost cargo hold as my carage. The one next to it is empty. You should know that the cargo holds open to the rear of the ship should you need to open the loading ramps.", the projection then ran along the corridor back to the middle and to the other side. "I've prepared the right side holds for tonight. We've got the center hold as our main stage with the wing hold more for the later in the evening. The wall between them is controllable should you need to open it. My personal quarters are in the end of the wing.", Yed started walking to the center hold. "This corridor runs through the entire ship. Only other possible route of travel is between the neihbouring cargo holds if the separating wall is opened. This is the main hold.", he turned through a spacious door that shot up on it's own, completely silent. Inside the hold was large table with 8 chairs around it and food and drinks on a smaller table next to it.
"Nice outfit you've going on, though I've never been much of a Space-farer myself." Harbyx said, though he wondered if Yed could tell that last was a bold faced lie." Say nature called, I'd have to use your quarters I suppose?"
Harbyx walked over to the table with the snacks and drinks.
"Refreshments are free-for-all?"
"Yes, what kind of a host would I be if I went scotch on the drinks? Better stuff is kept in my personal bar in my room though. If you want something from there just ask. That's where the bathroom is located too, yes. It's regular spaceship size."
"Hmm, where I'm from, the host serves the drinks to his guests. Or has people to do that for him. Part of my plan was, eh, based around that concept."
"Ah, we rarely do that unless it's a really fancy party. I don't have a butler here to pour glasses either. But you can just wait past the meal to the socializing when people often offer to bring get/pour drinks to each other."
"Must be a Human-thing then. For me, that's normal for any kind of get-together. Part of your duty as a host and all that."
Harbyx ran his mind over the options and decided to play it straight. He took the syringe out of his pocket.
"Here's the thing. I need to get this, in the female's system. Preferably not directly for obvious reasons. Best way I see it, that means it goes her drink or her food. And not just in any drink or food, as she and only she needs the entire dose. Any suggestions on how to achieve that?"
"How long does it take for full effect? If it is not too long you can just spice up her drink later in the evening. Either you or I can offer to pour some drinks. Not a problem.", Yed thought for a moment.
"Food might be harder. I've ordered part snacks to be delivered after we start our meal but it's more risky to take that route. Drinks are more likely to be finished than food."
"That depends on her condition, especially when it's mixed with alcohol. But I have ways of knowing. And I agree that it is better to do it in the evening, her leaving too soon might seem...off."
Harbyx pondered for a bit.
"We might even take turns getting drinks for the other guests, that way I can make sure I lace the right drink. By the way, why am I here? As in why did you invite me?" Harbyx noticed the look Yed gave him. "So I can get my story straight."
"I originally planned this just as a gathering of friends as my good friend, a hired gun named Dasse Barings, was coming to Lyra Secundus. I've haven't been able to contact him tonight. He might have ran into some complications but that doesn't stop us. You are just here to see an old friend too. Acceptable?"
"Very well. How do I know Dasse?"
"Your alter ego is a security contractor, he used to work with you."
"Bit open ended, but I can make due for the time being. Though this ruse might be overturned if Dasse actually shows."
"I've set a message to be delivered for him when his communicator appears close that were having a get together with his old colleque in case he turns up. He'll get the idea."
"He'd better. If this thing goes pear-shaped......." Harbyx didn't finish the sentence. He shook his head, "Might as wel start with a drink now. Got any John Barleycorn?"
"I think I just might.", Yed went to get two glasses and a bottle. He poured two glasses and put the bottle back. He brought the glass to Harbyx and they drank for the lady luck.

Dorian sat behind his desk and finised his whiskey. He placed the cube in his safe, promising to himself to check it's content later. It've must been important if Sage risked to anger him. Dorian looked at the picture on his desk. It showed a woman, bearing some resemblance to Dorian. He sighed and shutted off his computer.

After refilling his flasks Dorian went to see Sage. She was in her cabin, grooming her hair.
- Ready to go to that party?
- Yea.- She said while tying her hair into a tail.- I should dye my hair- She said suddenly
- You look good in my eyes- Dorian replied- We're taking the bike- He said and tossed Sage a helmet
- There must be something wrong with you- Sage said as she cathed the headpiece.
- Just a good mood.
- Don't bullsh!t me- Sage laughed and covered her mouth. It was very rare that Sage cursed.
- You were saying about someone acting wrong?- Dorian said.- Let's not waste anymore time.

about half an hour later they found where Yed had docked his starship. Dorian parked the bike and along with Sage went towards the entrance to the starship.
- I thought he had some fancy ship, not this busted piece of crap.- Dorian grumbled.- Must be the one eccentric types.

Jak went out of the shop and walked to his ship. He was vaguely aware of children watching him from around the corner. Apparently the two he met earlier only went away to call their friends, because now there was at least five of them, climbing on top of each other to get a better view. Jak entered his ship and the door closed behind them. The kids would have to satisfy themselves with its exterior as there was no way to peek or get inside.

"Welcome to my humble abode." Jak said and looked at Fenix who was surveying her new surroundings, "Would you like anything? Water? A hot drink? Beer? Whiskey? The blueprints for an Akhari spaceship?"

Harbyx had synced his HMD with the ships system, in as far as his clearance allowed him of course.
Drinking to something was another Human custom Harbyx didn't quite understand, but he went with it. Besides any excuse to drink John Barleycorn was good enough. His drink of choice, it was something halfway between beer and whiskey, allegedly invented by mister Barleycorn himself when he could not figure out how to distill whiskey properly.
Through his HMD, Harbyx saw the ships system had picked up something.
"It seems some of the guests have arrived." he casually remarked.

Dorian was smoking a cigar, and examining the starship.
- For a busted piece of crap, this ship is f£$%ing sturdy. If I didn't knew better I'd say this baby is fitted to carry contraband. You have some strange friends Sage. must be that nobility's fancy to delve into something they're not familiar with. A f£$^ing thrill seeker.- Dorian spat on the ground.

"Seems to be the hunters, I'll introduce you.", Yed said as he put the glass away on the end of the table. "You can just leave your glass there.", he tapped his left shoulder and Cresc came flying to land on it. "Open the crew ramp.", he commanded the ship's computer.
"Crew ramp opening.", the synthetic voice answered.
Yed walked down the ramp and greeted the duo.
"Welcome, to the Deathdodger. I have to apologise in advance for the crude setting of tonight. This isn't exactly a luxury yacht designed with the aesthetics in mind.", he shook Dorian's left hand.
"Great that you could make it. It seems that another of my friends is delayed by something but I'm sure he'll be here later.", he then introduced Harbyx. "Dorian, Sage, O'Kais Brismoth. Bris, Dorian, Shashnavi Virennak.", as the introductions were over he asked: "How about your friend from earlier, will he be joining us?"

Shashnavi Virrenak? Darius raised an eyebrow as he noticed the noble walk to the ship across from him with another man. He met her several times before on Lyrus Prime years ago, but hadn't anticipated seeing her here ever since he discovered that she was a Hunter. The ship also belonged to someone Darius wished to employ. As there seemed to be a party going on, Darius thought that it would be a great opportunity to both catch up with Shashnavi and get the person that he needed to employ. Yet he was not sure how the violet-haired man would react to Darius crashing his party. Hopefully it would not get violent, but Darius had to consider all possibilities. Wearing the armor would only provoke a possible attack, one that Darius would never be able to escape unscathed from. Darius still had to play the part of the naive and unassuming noble. As the posh aristocrat from Earth, Darius lightly gelled back his pitch black hair, donned an extravagant party suit, armed himself with his rapier and the gun he picked off earlier, and had Astro neatly wrap a very old vintage bottle of Earth wine as a gift.

Darius walked across the launchpad with the bottle of wine in hand and a formal paper letter written in gold pen ink to Yed.

On it said:
To my most gracious host,
I, Darius Achaemenid V, do thank you for the tolerance you exhibit and do wish to apologize for my uninvited arrival to this respectable social gathering. In commendation of your most fortuitous character, I gift to you a rare and ancient vintage of Earth wine: a 3963 Richebourg Pinot Noir. It is unopened and is my unhinged gift to you. I am certain that we will both get to know and understand each other greatly tonight and in the future.

In honor of the Empire,
Duke Darius Achaemenid V

The letter was sealed and was stamped with the Imperial Standard underscored by the Achaemenid family crest. Putting Duke in the letter was unnecessary, and is merely a ceremonial title until he takes his father's place as Archduke.

Darius walked to Yed's ship, and stopped before its entrance. He politely knocked.

Dorian seemed to think that he saw this O'Kais somewhere before. And recently. Growing up near the ghettos and having several Thoran friends had made Dorian to tell apart different Thoran individuals via their petty differences of appearance. The thoran's grip was strong and confident, as was Dorian's. He thought that O'Kais was a thoran with a status, as being invited to this posh celebration as Dorian still thought on this party.
Sage on the other hand felt rather relaxed, and not as grumpy, although Dorian did try his best to appear festive. She noticed that the little greendart has taken an interest in her, much like the first time she met it.
- Well, what about that drink you promised me Violet?- Dorian let out a little chuckle, in finally taking note at Yed's hair color.- And pass me an ashtray if you have any. I'd hate to drop some dirt on your starship.- Tidyness in or on any vehicle was a sacred thing to Dorian. his motorbike and "Sweetheart" were most of the time squeaky clean.
- Never seen a model like this before. a special order on the drive yards?- He asked Yed.

Yed smirked at the violet remark, he was proud of his unique natural hair colour.
"Keen eye, it is one of a kind indeed. Originally designed for intra-system cargo transportation. As such it has unmatched atmosperic flight capabilities. Not too shabby in space either. Especially after the modifications done to the original design.", Yed explained as he directed them up the ramp. Cresc had taken to flying next to Sage. It circled just a little ahead of her and did a dive pretending to catch something from the air. Once they were up the ramp it closed and Yed commanded the computer.
"Engine room, pressurize, unlock."
"Engine room pressurising. Pressurising complete, unlocking.", the synthetic voice answered. Yed placed his right palm on the door. Servos could be heard whirring.
"Now this is one of the modifications I spoke about, and most of the reason why this craft does so well in space.", Yed said while the servos unlocked the door and started to open the multiple layers of plating on the door. As the door opened and blue light started to shine through the cracks he continued:
"A stable proton drive core", the door revealed a blue pulsating star just a little over a meter in diameter. It was being circled by three rings that moved around all three of its axis in a fast synchronised bundle. The core was levitating in the middle of the room not touching any of the heavily plated and armoured walls. "one of the very first and few in the empire. When it reaches full power it's enough to blow a hole the size of this planet into space itself but when pressurised and in hibernation, it's just a pretty blue ball of plasma.", Yed placed his hand on the wall. The servos could be heard whirring again. "Engine room, lockdown."
"Initiating stantard engire room lockdown.", the synthetic voice answered.
"Now, let's see about that drink. What would you", Yed was intterupted by the synthetic voice.
"A male human detected, face recognition: Duke Darius Achaemenid V. Requesting entry."
"He's early, that self-conceited prick.", Yed said more to himself than anyone else. "Entry denied untill further notice.", he said to the computer. "What would you two like for drinks?", he turned to Dorian and Sage.

Harbyx didn't join the foray to the engineroom, having already gotten the tour of the ship and no particular interest in it. He didn't see an ashtray on in the party-hold, so he quickly went into Yeds quarters to look for one. Yed didn't seem the smoking-type, but then he could well just grab some kind of bowl if he couldn't find the real McCoy.
After a quick rummage round he found one or a close enough equivalent. And went back to the party-hold. He put the tray on the table and occupied the chair with the best vantage of the hold and the entrances. He reached over to grab his drink as the others entered the hold.

Take me on a rocket ride
Rocket ride
Rocket ride
Rocket ride...

400 watts of sound blasted the techno beat from the speakers on Alexia’s bike as she traversed the road to the launch pad where she needed to deliver the cupcakes that weird man ordered.  The trapezoid-shaped booster behind her bike added the heavy bass to her music and shook everything around her as she passed by.   Striking neon colours lit dynamically on her displays and along the edges of the fairing on her Newton’s Bane.

Alexia loved the thrill of speed and risk.  She switched off the auto pilot and gunned it, zipping through the city lights.  The lights turned into a streaking blur as she sped past and it reflected on her shiny black helmet and leather jacket and pants.

When she spotted Dex’s place, she didn’t slow down.  Instead she waited until she saw a corner which she thought would lead her to the launch pad.  She then turned sharply while hitting the breaks, sliding backwards and coming to a rapid stop.  In her HUD from the bike’s camera, she saw the ship her customer mentioned.

As she turned off the bike’s engine, the 400 watt of sound stopped rocking around her.  Alexia removed her helmet, shaking loose long red straight hair fell.  She took a keen look at the ship before deciding to walk over to the entrance.    Also, she made sure that her Double D’s were well hidden.  Nobody would know they were there, unless she told them.  She decided to bring them since her customer appeared to be dangerous sort.  Her street wise instincts warned her to be wary.

She grabbed the package which was resting on the back of her bike, then lit another cigarette before walking the entrance.  There she noticed a man standing before the front door.  She stood by his side and as usual, she looked at him from head to toe carefully examining if he would suit her taste.

The man looked like noble of some sort.  She raised an eyebrow when her eye met his and released an evil chuckle.  Noble men, she said to herself, they look good but she hated the stiffness of them, those elegant speeches and the likes.  For her it’s full of sh*t.  She turned her gaze back to the door, expressing no interest in the man besides her.

“Delivery!” she spoke as she knocked on the sensors.

"He seems rather occupied at the moment. Didn't even bother to look at the wine. Can't imagine why...this vintage is worth quite a lot and is extremely rare outside of Earth." said Darius to the girl beside him as he dusted off the wine bottle. He then turned to her and said, "I'm Darius. I could give you my full name, rank, and title, but I'm guessing that you don't take nobility kindly to begin with, so I won't bother flaunting it about."

Darius activated the microsensors in his glove and scanned the door in front of them. "Access has been purposefully put off limits at this point, but I doubt he'll keep the caterer waiting. You'll probably get in soon enough. I, in the meantime, will be holding his wine bottle hostage in my ship until he decides that he wants it. Also, his access code is protected by a trimodal interlocking script. Very advanced, but not impossible to break should you be forgotten outside."

With that, Darius walked back to his ship, and hung the wine bottle on a rope from the ceiling of the bridge so that Yed may be able to see it through the windows of the Astro.

- Anything that burns, except for fuel- Dorian said jokingly- Not picky over the drink myself, but mostly I prefer whiskeys and krasnaks. Sage on the other hand mostly fancies red wine. You've must be worth your salt to have one of those next gen drive cores installed in your ship. I've heard only the newest imperial cruisers are outfitted with those. My own ship uses a slightly older core from the Nebulon class frigates, got it installed a few months back. It may not be as fast as the latest ones, but it get's the job done anyway.

Dasse woke up to the sound of his communicator beeping loudly. He woke up, his hands clutching around the scabbard of the heated machete. He grumbled and stumbled out of his bunk. "Who would be calling me at this ungodly hour?" Dasse was mumbling as he flipped open his communicator that carried a message from an old friend for him. He picked up the glass of water next to his bunk and sipped, before perusing his mails, most of it was advertisements and impossible assignments. His employers seemed pretty keen on him dying, the muts setting him up versus psykers so he would just go and die already, so he needn't get paid and, hopefully, he'd still have managed to kill his mark somehow.

He went for his gear, his machete still in hand. He carefully put it down as he put on his everyday clothes. Nothing special, nothing much combat-related. That was the least he could do if he were to show up there. He opened his trunk where he carefully stored his gear every time he went to sleep (except the machete of course, he needed the machete just in case) and took out the gear. He couldn't go out without the gear. that's be highly unprofessional, especially if he wanted to meet  a contractor and put on his katana. He loaded the rest of his stuff (really basic stuff, mind) in the trunk and left for the main cabin. The captain was sitting there. "Are we almost on Lyra Secunda?" Dasse asked. "It's Lyra Secundus, and we're almost there. About a few more hours. It's quite early in the evening when we arrive. Adjust your watch with the board communicator."
Dasse nodded and did just that. The landing went as smoothly as they usually went with spacecraft, which means, he just about managed not to succumb to any ânic attacks.

He said his thanks to the captain, a human named Walter and paid his cred just fine. He went out on the dock and was looking for the familiar ship. It had been a long time since he met Yed. Sure it was fter he stopped being part of the Empire's army, but still a while's away. His gear jingled as he walked up to the familiar ship. The walk wasn't long, definitely under 30 Earth minutes, which barely differed from the minutes here, he seemed to remember, and the directions were quite clear. He saw a lovely lady at the front door. He would have guessed her to be of some east-asian heritage, but such markings were kind of arbitrary 3000 years post-Earth inhabitation.

"Hello, there, it seems to me you are waiting for entrance." Dasse said with a smile. He managed to sound cheery and almost even jolly as he said: "care to join me for the festivities?" he asked as he held up his suitcase with the communicator in it. The door opened and he lent her an elbow. "By the way, I am Dasse. What's your name? I am sorely disappointed Yed hasn't introduced us before, for the record."
