- Don't get started on that...- Dorian said to Harbyx, but wasn't sure if he heard of. He instead continued to rattle about various whiskey types he encountered while traversing the galaxy to Yed, and comparing their expiriences.

Jak opened the main door and looked at the troops. His fingers itched. On both sides of the door there was a big energy gun leaning against the wall, handle side up, almost begging to be used. But Jak still remembered the conversation he had a moment ago.
"Boys will be boys. Give me one second. Hmmm... let's label this an... experimental strike ship, emulate the identification codes of the defense ministry's experimental factories, loop that through the regular defense ministry's channels... and finally, we scramble the data so that 'only' their imperial codes can register it... It's ready. Patch this through your ship's communicator, it will identify you as not only government property, but government property that no one on this planet is warranted to look at, let alone touch or shoot."
Jak turned back to face Fenix.
"And what does that have to do with killing our guests?"
Fenix sighed.
"It has to do with the fact that you don't have to kill them."
"Oh, well then..." Jak turned to the door again.
"Wait! Look, you're parked outside my shop. You'll just kill them and fly off. I'll have to deal with the outcome." Fenix paused for a second, "And then how will I be able to modify your armor?"
Jak walked back to Fenix, grabbed the chip from her fingers and looked into her eyes. Despite the fact that a thick layer of metal surrounded the Akhari's head, Fenix could swear that his mad gaze easily penetrated it and stared right into her eyes.
"I don't think I like you as much as I did before.", he said in a hurt voice. "Just try to finish packing while I deal with our guests. And try not to touch anything. After all this is a ... experimental strike ship."
He spat the last words out and walked to the door.
And here he was, staring at a bunch of humans and their toys. And he was not killing them. His superiors would be proud. His inner voices would make fun of him for years to come.
"Can I help you, gentlemen?"

- The Hunters are mainly sanctioned hitmen answering to her majesty- Sage said.- Our work is closer to bounty hunters. But it does get exciting some times. I believe Dorian told you about our first mission togeter? quite the tale indeed.I bear deep respect to Arianna honestly. other attempts to take down her operations have failed miserably.

The commander clearly didn't liked being bossed around in such a manner. begrudgingly he ordered a scan.
- The Owner of this starship is Imperial Science Division, Space Exploration arm.- One of the officers said- details are classified. A false alarm, just someone played a hoax of this being an akhari ship.
The commander ordered his troops to leave, without even sayng a word back at Jak.

"Yeah, I hear pirates are a real thorn in the side around the fringe worlds. Harassing shipping and flotilla and all that. Vyse Rabanastre was the mayor pirate to fear when I was young. If you give it some thought, that makes it no wonder that fringers don't take the Imperial law all that seriously."
Harbyx paused for a sip.
"Though it's surprising how open you two are about it. Especially Dorian. I'd have thought that such things would be classified. Only talk about such things with folk in the know."

You really think that Dorian is a rank and file type person who follows orders with no questions asked?- She smiled.- He's the kind that kicks open every door and demands anything from anyone. Once he threw a guy out of the two hundred story just for looking at him as he'd put it "The wrong f£$%ing way". A piece of advice, never get on his bad side- She took a sip from her glass.- And you should know that the empress likes to show off her power, so most of our takedowns are broadcasted straight into the news feeds, failures too, although very heavy sugarcoated. So being such open about it isn't very unusual.

Jak closed the door and walked back inside dragging the guns on the floor. He threw them to one corner of the room, then took off his helmet and threw it to another corner. He slumped on the sofa in the front room and addressed Fenix.
"They're gone. You should take the gear and get going too. Notify me when you're done. I'll be here killing time. 'Cause apparently that's the only thing I'm all I'm allowed to kill here. Party pooper."

"And about doing such things all openly, must be Human Logic. Seeing how government-sanctioned terrorism in the form of Hunters is completely redundant. Seeing as how the Army, Navy and Enforcers are doing a well enough job of it themselves. No personall offense meant, of course."

- None taken. Dorian is what the Hunters are suppose to represent. A ruthless law enforcer, sent in where the regural methods fail. If you wish to hear his side of the story of why he was recruited, you'd better be prepared to pay for an expensive night of heavy drinking. Not to mention other pleasures. No drugs though. Last time someone offered Dorian some, he had a free plastic surgery, and not the kind that makes you prettier. Overall, under the rough exterior, lies a much nicer person.

"Hrrmh, I'll have to take your word for that." Harbyx said with some slight disbelief in his voice. "Though it would certainly help if he tried to civilise his language. Not one to be offended by swearing, myself. But Dorian seems to find a sentence incomplete without two swears in it. And if he is such a posterboy for the Hunters, I'm sure his story isn't that much different from a salted version of the propaganda. So don't mind me if I skip a night of debauchery. I've learnt well enough that is hard enough for a non-pinky to get ahead in life without being a saint as is." Harbyx said, referring to the colloquialism used for Humans and Malari by other races.
"Again, no personal offence intended."
Harbyx saw the first signs of the drug taking effect. He downed the remainder of his drink.
"Can I top your drink off while I'm at it?"

"Got it just yesterday but it has passed 18 years already.", he tapped his shoulder and Cresc flew over onto his shoulder. "And I have something I want to talk to you about. In private.", he added.

"If you kill someone, you reveal yourself here and confirm the rumors that the Akhari are on the move." Fenix told him, closing up her crate. "If you do that, the imperials know to prepare for you and the rebels lose the one advantage they have. I think your superiors will be more pleased this way." She glanced cautiously out the window to make sure the imperials were actually gone and walked towards the door. "I'll have this done by the end of the day tomorrow. We can discuss if you need to pay me then." Honestly, it was a valid question to ask. One whole day with some Akhari weapons would be enough to scan the designs and run some diagnostics on the power supply. Afterwords, she would be able to actually make some of her own. That should more than cover any costs that suit modifications he could ask for. "Tah tah."

- I hear you. The terran brewed whiskeys are damn overpriced everywhere. Though they're not my favourite ones. Bourbon types from Tennessia are my favourites from human whiskeys.- Dorian said.
-Sure thing- She handed her glass to Harbyx.- I'm not offended by anything that resolves politics, and Dorian is the last person you'd call a racist. His best friend is a thoran. As for me, as long as you do something good for the society, you're allright in my eyes. Now if only the rest of the empire could se this way.

Her glass was empty enough for her to have ingested a good dose of the drug, the remnants left in the remainder of the wine would be mixed with the new. She should be ready soon. Harbyx filled both their glasses and walked back.
There he handed Sage another glass of wine.
"So, what is it you do when you're off hours? Supposing you get any."

"I think your superiors will be more pleased this way.", Jak said in a mocking voice after Fenix left, "She sounds like my mother. And I ran away from home eventually. I'd run away now if she didn't have my toys..."
And so Jak grabbed a drink and prepared for a day of boredom. This was getting ridiculous, he hadn't killed anyone since that petty dealer who sold him the armor. And that was eons ago. Ok, that was two days ago, but that still meant he'd two whole days without killing anyone. His fingers twitched.

- Mostly what people do when they're not working- Sage said.- Hanging out with Dorian at various pubs and bars, reading, and generally having a good time. The politics and family intrigues are of no interest to me. I feel alive when working with Dorian, despite his flaws that are unfortunately unchangeable.

"I see. I guess that, with your job taking you all over the galaxy, it's hard to join any clubs and such. I'm quite the race fan myself. Love to watch it, love to do it. If it goes fast I'm into it." Harbyx replied, not just making stuff up for a change.
"I love to go to McQueens two sectors over and watch the races with the boys there. And I'm with a hoverbike racing club, when we get the chance we take out hogs over to the track, though we don't get to as often as we'd like. And I don't like to brag, but I'm currently on a 16-race winningstreak..." Harbyx cut himself off as he saw the telltale signs of Sage being under influence of the drug enough to make his move.
"Sorry, getting a call, I have to take this. Work..." Harbyx rolled his eyes, more for show than anything else as Sage was far enough gone to neither care, remember nor spot a lie from the truth.
Harbyx excused himself, pretending to use his HMD as a com, and moved to a different cargohold, making sure he wasn't watched all that well.
There he closed the doors behind him and made a link with his HMD to the nanoreciever that Sage had ingested. She should now be able to hear him as a voice inside her.
"Hear this voice. Obey it. Obey only this voice." Harbyx commanded. "You have no choice, you shall obey. Once O'Kais leaves the ship you will wait a few minutes and then you will excuse yourself. You will fob off Dorian with an excuse and tell him he shouldn't worry. You will tell him you will be back later. Then you will exit the ship and follow O'Kais at an inconspicuous distance. I will give you further instructions when it is time."
Then Harbyx repeated the commands to make sure that she got it all, before he returned to the party hold. Yed and Dorian had left, he heard them talking about his quarters. Sage was looking slightly dazed and Dasse and the other human, Harbyx still couldn't tell which was which, were minding themselves to much to notice anything.
Harbyx poped his head round the door of Yeds quarters.
"Hey Yed, sorry man. I know it's early, but I gotta call from my employer. Important work, no way I'm getting out from under this. Thanks for everything."
Harbyx went back to the party hold and made a bit of a show of saying goodbye. Not that either the Humans or Sage realy cared, but he had to do it to make clear to the drugged Sage that he was leaving. The he exitted the ship and walked to the edge of the landingpads. Just far out enough to be seen.

Something within Sage compulsed to follow the orders given to her by the strange voice coming from her head. But she needed to shake off Dorian for some time.
- Damn, my last one,- Said Dorian while looking at his empty portsigar. Sage felt that this will buy her some time and it'll tip Dorian off without raising suspicion.
- I'll go and get some more for you.- She said to Dorian
- That's nice of you. The box is empty back at Sweetheart, and the closest store is...
- I know where it is. I'll catch a cab, and you could continue with your sampling.- There was no way that Dorian would lend her his motorcycle.
- Allright You do know which ones I smoke?
- Handrolled ones cognac dipped, grown from Navia Quartos.
- You do know. - He smiled.- Well, don't be long then. Give a call if you run off into some trouble.- Sage nodded.
Sage exited the starship. Noe all she needed is for the voice to give her the directions.
