Two things.
1: How does that make English pompous?
2: Not only English people suffer from that. The Dutch do too.

They're too high and mighty to deal with a little snow. Back in Hungary the buses would run even if there was a bloody Apocalypse.

From what I gather, lie down and die, but before we do that, we're going to buy-out every supermarket of bread and milk. jackasses.
I saw two old guys fighting over a loaf of Kingsmill. It was entertaining, but at the same time, sad. (as in pathetic)

Yea it's true most of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland shuts down when it snows. It's basically cos we don't get it that often or that bad we don't know how to deal with it unlike countries that get it all the time.
You can't blame the people though its the schools, bus companies, airports etc that choose to close.
Yes you got the odd people that bulk buy incase they can't get out.
What sucks the most is those people do wrapped up in themselves they forget about the elderly or disabled and making sure they are ok.

Meh, that's the case everywhere. There's like 2 inches of snow in the forecast and suddenly everybody thinks they have to go to the store to buy milk. I mean, even if you get two FEET of snow, the longest you'd be stuck in the house is like two days. But everyone is so effing afraid they might run out of milk. It's like a milk stampede around here whenever there's a chance we might get a flake of snow.

I was quoting "meaning of life", it just sounds too good to not include, regardless whether it's applicable or not

Seems to be an inherent quality of those not having winters.
Like why on earth would you close down schools if it snows? Just, wtf?
It'd be the same if all north african countries went completely nuts everytime it rained, yet for some reason they don't.

If the weather is mocking you 365 days a year, you have find a random excuse to call it bad. 'Tis one of the reasons why the English lot hates the French so much - after all the Messieurs kept them out of the continent and destroyed all their chances to live a life under the sun.
