Thanks, but I know all of that already. I don't play against the CPU and I don't build money buildings. It just seems I can't go and kill the guardians with my weak armies without suffering some losses so I advance quite slowly so I can't really make more money that way. I've read almost all the stickied threads here and I've watched videos too but I just don't understand why I can't kill anything but lots of level 1 creatures with my day 1-3 army without losses. I try with the baits and stuff and it works until they die. Then my main forces don't deal enough damage to kill them off so they suffer retaliation too.

...well, if you follow the first 3 points and you do have problems "against the map" then you should look after te "earth" skill.

The hero that gets Earth skill first should be your main. Dont accept other skills no matter what until you do have Expert Earth. Combined with slow you now can kill tons of higher monsters.

exactly, i think that early early game fights against creeps are the most hardest to handle in the games, since the only tactic is to get close and kill em (no special units, no artifacts, no spells). I just don't think there is anything you can do about it, some battles can be won with min losses using wait and other that kind of stuff, but for example if you encounter ranged units, its hell.

i usually try to fight them, if losses are too much i load the game and wait for next week. Sometimes the losses wont matter, these kind of things depend so heavily on the map..

Well as already said go for Earth Magic and pray for that slow spell and  when present engage undead, elemental and golem guardians first

My strategy has always been the same during week 1.
Buy Capitol first, so you have no problem with money. After that, if you have less than 20,000 gold coins then buy stuff that costs around 1000-2000 gold coins. You should always have enough money to recruit all monsters by the start of a new week. I always use this strategy and 95% of the time I win against computer players. I don't really play Multiplayer.

I recommend playing multiplayer games, it is so much more fun. You would probably reconsider then investing in the army. In my opinion it is the most important to have a strong hero at the beginning of the second week so that you can expand quicker.

1st day (depending on temp) you need heroes (3-5-8/9 heroes), you need some good unit to help with nasty creeps or magic guild. these two things.

on 7th day you need essential buildings for troops, citadel (others don't matter and vary) and well placed heroes on a well scouted map.

on 1/2/4-1/2/5 you need angels/wyverns/topia/boxes and some upgrades for some units. of'corpse - it's all temp dependent. And get that Batista (specially on Balance..)

After that - go for the kill/treasury zone/big things that will win the game. Even True Random blocks are do-able on 2nd week, it's kinda mandatory on Jebus and some other temps. in a word - do what gets you army a.s.a.p. - use the army to get hero lvls and clear the maps - look for cons/tree to get more army - kick as..
