I have a much more rational explanation. Since the reply page, among others, is, well, it's pretty straight-forward, it's a page. Hence any robot can access it. The "making a reply" just signifies they are on that page, not that they are actually making one.

a potential issue i found; not sure if it counts as an authority risk or anything(in case the account can be/was hacked): still a mod, although not a mod?
might just be the designation to be removed was forgotten, but i figured i'd bring it up anyway.

Oh ADAM is definitely still a mod. I just wait for the day he is activated again.
Also, tie up loose ends? Val has been known as many things throughout the years, but I have never heard anyone refer to him as a mob boss.

Admins can disable some web crawling bots (the respectful ones) by changing the robots.txt of the site. This basically tells bots if they can or cannot "pass" to index the site contents.
Denying them access gives some extra privacy, but will lead to decreased web rank as less pages can log the site's content.
And yes it does bother me that my information is being sold, but there's not we can do about it other than revolution, is there? :V
PS:
I am seeing some actual virus bots with automated generic replies wthat leave links to offsites with no relationship to the topic at hand.

Unfortunately we cannot delete accounts. Mods can only silence them.

here's an account that needs silencing immediately: annashetty posted two quotes, and both have links that weren't in the original post. most likely phishing, but definitely more vermin that needs exterminated(or perma-silenced).
