I can't explain how, but my bro started with almost 500 cards. Is that how it is now? I don't remember how much I've started with but I certainly didn't had 1 pre-made deck from each faction when that happened.

for new accounts you get a promo special which equates to about 500 cards, plus if he beats each faction, he will win a premade deck of that faction ^^

You get a deck when you beat the faction for the first time in multiplayer.
I feel like all the decks I make are terrible. Is there a place I can find a starting guide specific to factions or starting decks or something?

Ask Elvin or someone with experience like I did. It's really for the best if you have no clue what you're looking for. Then there's mmdocking, I think you can watch some replays and see some good decks in action.

If he was referred by a DoC friend, then you start with many card bonuses....

I would play the tutorials and campaigns as your very first point of call.
this will give you a good idea of what works and how things work as well, vs things that dont work - the trick will be to understand each card you use, and how some cards work together - add me ingame.
also download replay manager - check the ubi.com forums and search for replay manager. this will allow you to see decks that you do face.
the grind will also teach you tricks of the trade.

Saw first two long ago(like 4-5 months ago) on some forum, they just didn't implement them back then and I like original a lot more to be honest. But Shadow Image is actually really sick and a lot better than original, and it is new to me too.

Tried the game again after like a year of absence, like half my deck is marked red haha.
Tried open format and got insulted over and over cuz apparently my Acamas is super-lame.

Elvin I think my Ariana is not competitive anymore. Isn't Seria with fortunes and stackable creatures better in the current meta?
