Voted for Malassa's Thousand Faces.

Main reason : Troglodyte and Medusa

Very good choice.

First off, I am disappointed by the fact that Faceless only exist in one of the lineups and only as elite. Secondly, I have expressed my dislike of Hydras in the past, and now I see them as champs in all three lineups Well, I will miss the Manticores, but for me hit and run fits better my idea of the Dark Elves ways. Fot all those reasons I'll go for The Blade from the Shadows...

Now that I've thought some more about it, I think The Blade from the Shadows wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for those teleporting Shadow Unicorns. If they replaced those with something else (preferably something without strike-and-return) it would actually be a pretty decent line-up. As of now my vote is still Malassa's Thousand Faces.

Ok haven't read all 8 pages so sorry if this is already debated ... but, Dragon + Hydra in all line-ups?

Anyway, the choice is a bit tougher than I had thought. All of them have some pros and some major drawbacks imo.

The Blade From The Shadows:
Pros:
- Faceless! I think this was a very essential addition to Dungeon, I can't believe they are only on one line-up??
- Also Shadow Watcher (Evil Eye) is good.
Cons:
- No manticore, no caster unit in Elite
- Shadow Unicorn ... really!? But ok, names are subject to change. I'm sceptical about the Nightmare (traditionally a creature on fire) but if the fire is removed, I guess it's not a bad fit.
- Two creatures with Strike and Return ability ... was this the most imaginative they could come up with for the Faceless!?
- Two Teleporters and two creatures with No Retaliation ... how about trying a bit of variation?

Malassa's Thousand Faces:
Pros:
- Troglydyte could prove interesting.
- Caster elite unit.
- Better unit variation overall.
Cons:
- Don't like Medusa in Dungeon, should be swamp.
- Don't like the shadowsteel construct idea.
- Misses too many essential creatures (Manticores, Faceless, Evil Eye)

The Shield Of Darkness:
Pros:
- Manticore! Can't believe this is only in one line-up.
- Troglydyte + Evil Eye can be interesting.
Cons:
- No Assassin, no faceless
- No caster unit in Elite
- Don't like the shadowsteel construct idea.

Based on creatures alone I'm leaning towards Blade From The Shadows, but I'm afraid this line-up has the worst combination of abilities (a lot of creatures seem very similar = boring) so I might be convinced to change.

That's pretty much what I have in mind. But are you ready to accept Faceless as Elite? I think that's yet another mistake the line-up has.

It definitely is a bit mistake. After seing the official description of the units, my original choice for best line-up still remains:

Core creatures
- Troglodyte/Chthonian: Earth spirit, immune to blind and with burrowing movement ability. Tank.
- Assassin/Shade: melee walker with backstab ability. Damage dealer.
- Shadow Lurker/Shadow Watcher: ranged attack flier with debuff abilities. Saboteur.
Elite creatures
- Minotaur/Minotaur guard: melee walker with preemptive strike and no retaliation. Damage dealer.
- Medusa/Medusa Shadow Witch / Shadow Sorceress: walker with ranged attack and mesmerizing ability. Saboteur.
- Manticore/Scorpicore: flier with poison debuff. Saboteur.
Champion creatures
- Faceless/Faceless Assassin: teleporter with strike and return ability. Damage dealer. Caster and saboteur.
- Shadow Dragon/Black Dragon: flier with area of damage and debuff abilities. Saboteur. Damage dealer.

I would've voted that line-up on the spot. Too bad Ubi doesn't give us easy choices.

Would prefer Hydra to the Medusa, but apart from that this line up is the best.

Most important thing to me is the Faceless in the right tier, which is champion and not elite.

Hydro could do instead of Medusa, and I would give Medusa other name either way (Shadow Witch was good), but I think we need an elite caster/ranged.

Btw. Can anybody understand why the construct got a spot in TWO line-ups, whereas essential creatures like Faceless, Manticore and Medusa (Shadow Witch) only get one appearance each, and in separate line-ups non-the-less so we are forced to ditch two of them?

I still think we wont have any casters, as of yet even the disciple doesn't seem to have a spellbook

I'm lavettdean on the MMH7 site, and I pose the same question to you guys as I do on the official site. Do you want another faction heavy with walking units? How is the lineup you choose going to take a town? I love the idea of trogs and medusa, but I can't see that lineup being very efficient when trying to take a town. It appears to me that it would be Blade from the Shadows is the best, followed by Shield, and then finally Malassa with all of it's walkers. Plus we already know that Haven and Sylvan will have a tonne of walkers.

I like all lineups, but I want the different factions to play differently. Considering town battles and the new flanking mechanic, having numerous flyers and teleporters will be a big advantage, especially considering how many walkers already exist in Haven and Sylvan.

Please think strategically and don't just vote for a creature because you like it. Who wants each faction to play similar to the last?

Malassa's Faces has only three obligatory walkers + the hydra.
(I assume Troglodytes burrowing ability makes him a teleporter)

But I still think Shield is the best line-up, having 2 core shooters and only 2 obligatory melee walkers

A cool movement animation would be if they faded into a shadow and then turned back.

@NACHO: Well, Malassa has two ranged units (yay), Troglos may be able to 'teleport' thanks to their burrowing ability, and you can always get Dragons (flier).

It's a better situation than Fury.

It's also noteworthy than all this lineups seems to be very low on flying units, so sieges won't be a piece of cake. And with caravans and Forts I think this is getting more interesting
