missing head.. missig limb.. those are not the answer for a proper design.

how do you make it feel undead? a being overcome death and spreading it under its control? what is death loooking like? those are good questions to answer.

blackness, the unknown, mystery and fear, beyond the capacities of living.. those are what undead army should have in common.

a spider formed up from dead body pile, legs coming out from this pile to reach ground, from center of pile, a rising organic meat covered in spider skeleton-shell, and a head coming out of it, wih lots of eyes and a deadly mount at the end of it... thats what i dream now.

The concept is too common if they say spider I see spider in my head from every day life. Used so many time in game in it's common form king's bounty is the perfect example. Something like that would be more refreshing.

Did someone ask about improving the connection to death?

Personally, I'd go for a more Black Widow like design: thin, long legs, and a large, round mainbody. Kinda like this:

Then let its bite have a (small) chance to "zombify" an attacked stack, which turns the stack to control by the owner of the spider (or maybe just stuns it), until either an X-amount of units of that stack have perished, time has passed, unit is cured, etc ...

I think a cooler unit would be like a Human Centipede-style Spider, sewn together from various corpses. But maybe that would be to morbid?

It is. Heroes' art. style should be rather pleasant for the eye and such spider isn't something nice. At all.

Its Necropolis we are talking about, the dead. Not Kinderpolis. Morbid, true horror inspired units would fit perfectly. Too bad we'll never get those.

Definitely "yey". Spiders perfectly fit Ashan's Necropolis. I'm surprised that It took them so long to implement such an iconic creature to bestiary of Heroes game series .

I understand that we complain about reused models, but spider is one of the completely fresh ones. To those who write that they would like see something less cliched and then mention zombies or ghouls: Seriously ?
I'd like to see Mummy in the lineup, but if there's a unit to be replaced is for sure ghost, lich or lamasu.

YES! Why not! I'm blind to anything that they come up with because ashan is so freaking cool man! So awesome!!!

I like it that those spiders look like they come from World of Warcraft, the best game in history of mankind! Really awesome to see them in ashan too! Ashan rules! Ashan is cool!

I want the elemental-recycles in homm7 too! Give us a Lammasu made from fire to create a fire elemental, a lich from water for the water elemental, the earth elemental could be a minotaur made from earth and the air elemental could be reskinned from the mage and his flying carpet! (That was so not taken from Aladdin!)

COol awesome! I love it! Ilove that smile! I love HELLO HEROES! I love everything they come up with! I LOVE MY LIFE!

[/extremefanboymodeoff]

No, I hate the design, ugly, WOW-ish and boring.

NEXT! (Hint: Sell the game to a compagnie who does have money and does  have fantasy skills) so the old fans can enjoy HOMM again.)

I may be blind but I don't see so much horror in Heroes III neither V nor II. For some players it would be just too much of body horror.

I completely agree with you. Moreover, spiders are one of the symbols and iconic features of horror genre.

NEVER EVER compare the greatness of HOMM3 necropolis with this piece of recycle-bunch that is HOMM7 ever again.

its a crime on which should be put life in prison.

Please guys, don't overreact. Aren't we too mature for it?
It's perfectly fine to compare new games to the old one. Why not? If the series want to develop we need to look forward, but remember the past.

That is the problem darlin.

HOMM7 recycles the HOMM6 units most people hated the most *cough lich, cough vampire*, Cough lammasu*

That is not develop, that is being poor or being cheap.

Homm 2 and 3 is simply "classic horror genre motive".
Skeletons are just that - VIRTUALLY grinning bags of bones swinging a primitive weapon.
Zombies and Walking Dead are basically those from the classic zombie movies.
Wight/Wraiths are classic hooded ghosts.
HoMM 2 vampires are Christopher Lee Draculas, Homm 3s are the Nosferatus (from those movies).
Mummies are exactly that, with bandages.
Liches are somewhat skeletal kings with evil magic  powers.
Dread Knights are a mix of apocalyptic riders and grim reapers.
Bone Dragons are an invention of them.

Comparing Ashan to Enroth and Axeoth is the sort of thing only a newfag fresh blood would do so lightly. The difference between them is like the difference between sky and earth.
