I was thinking more along the lines of these things with a cord on it, that you can pull, so the bones rattle. 
You know, Halloween stuff.

I voted NO.
I don't like the idea of spiders as necro units, mainly because I despise the majority of the Necro Ashan lore, I honestly hate the Spidercult.
Spiders can be neutral units with some connection to the Necropolis like the mummies in H3 but that's it.

If the spiders are just melee with poison, then nope.
If they are ranged creatures, spits out spiderweb to damage and slow down units, then im game.

Make them golems and make them champions.
Each spider you recruit carries a Necropolis on its back,
with skeletal liches who shoot death clouds at enemies 
How awesome is that?

They must have been in their dark, uncharted corner of my room for years, and I never really thought about them. I guess I'll give them a place worthy of their species. Somewhere...prominent.

I like Spiders(I was really sad when my Tarantula died  ) but adding Spiders for the sake of adding new(lol) unit is not ok.
