Changing a creature in a town's lineup

First: I have 0% experience when it comes to modding HOMM3, so a step-by-step tutorial on how to do this would be nice

Basically, I want to replace wraiths with ghosts in the Necropolis town. I tried to search the net for help with this, but nothing on this particular matter came up. Help would be REALLY appreciated!

WoG/ERA has ghosts, and if you want to change the looking of the creature, you could look inside the h3sprites.lod, using a program (it could be RES Editor, or MM Archive on WoG), and replace the creature's looking. But as I sayd, the WoG/ERA has the ghosts, and shall already be used, and you could have both wanted and non-wanted creatures .
Homewer, about mods I don't know much, but about editing textures I know

Here I made a tutorial about this. Instead of step 4, just put the script in a separate erm file in your WoG data folder inside the "s" folder

@Husham: You first have to learn it yourself in order to teach others

Nope, here is an advice for you: use VW for chatting, not wog forums.

All you say make no sense: people ask for precise things and you answer off topic each time. Until now we didn't call the moderators because I thought you are enough intelligent to think twice before giving further ignorant advices but obviously you don't see where is the real problem.

OP asks for creature line up, not creature looking, why do you insist giving advice when you have no clue about modding mechanics? Leave this to experienced people and you will be safe.

I gave advices on the creature looking because I have NO idea on what is a line-up
If that means to have even the properties of a Ghost, and you could recruit it with Necropolis, then really, I have NO idea...

Anyway, figured out that the line-up is meaning to recruit a creature from a building in a castle. If you want to replace the wights with ghosts (in WoG/ERA), then use LW's tutorial

If I put it in an existing ERM file, I'm getting spammed with syntax errors. If I create a separate ERM file and put the code there, it simply doesn't work. What should I do?

Well yes because probably you pasted it as it is in example, or you need to replace letters by parameters.

Place this in any script.

I think it would also be convenient to use the Undead Ghosts mod, if you are going to use them in the Necro line up. It can be downloaded from Era Mods thread. Without it, your ghosts will take damage from Death Ripple and be subject to bad morale.

Lizzard Warrior asked me to try (sincerely, I wanted ) to replace the Red Dragon with the Azure Dragon, and the Black Dragon with the Diamond one. I tryed this (inputed the text in the timed events, at day 600) :

Well, first time I done it (without the ZVSE), it crashed my map editor, and the second time I done it, it simply doesn't work.(I was going to get the Red Dragon from the dwelling, and it does still recruit Red Dragons)

Have any ideas ?

Yes. You didn't read his tutorial. Anyway that tutorial is not optimal (sorry Lizzy, using letters like TA for input value confuses them, use # or $), for best comprehension consult the erm help from era/tools:

!!UN:T#1/#2/#3/$;

Set a type of monster to hire in towns.
  #1 - Type of a town (0...8) (Format T)
  #2 - Dwelling level (0...6)
  #3 - Basic (0) or upgraded (1)
   $  - Type of monster to hire (Format C)

Yeap, they still multiply and accumulate endlessly when they kill enemy units. So having them as level 3 creature is practically turning Necropolis into God mode.
