Long time ago, mdt team wanted to re-create missing alex-ander projects (first two creatures) but later gave up this idea and started to make its own creatures.
By the way - Fallen monks(?) defs from never-finished Cathedral town are available in some H3 mods for years.

you guys should know, that if i am able to release my patch before the alternative creatures mod is released, that some of the work i did for that mod will be included(albeit, earlier alternate versions, and not the exact same objects you will be releasing). just a friendly heads-up.

i see that jmsower has taken to working on still life art and posting it on deviantart. while his drawing/paintings are very good; this worries me, regarding the progress of this project.
do i have cause for worry? is there anything i can do to help, if so?

Do not worry, I have alpha version of the mod anyway, which may be useful as last resort to avoid effort going to vain... I do not wanna spoil or give any hint about the content, except the fact that it's worth the wait

It's not MDT dependency. Now VCMI has it's oen map editor. It's aplha version but works less or more. But there's no plan to add campaign editor in near future.

I am sorry but I am just wondering if anybody in the MDT would happen to have an accompanying adventure map def of these Berserks and Snow Archers units because I love these units, I would certainly enjoy to use them for a mod of mine but alas the battle defs alone makes their utility limited, please let me know cheers lol
