skip intro for HOMM 3 complete
Hi,
I saw I had HOMM 3 complete edition installed on my computer (I usually play WOG, so I'm not sure when I installed the complete edition LOL)
Anyway, I was trying to play this game that I totally forgot about, and the thing that bothers me the most is that every time I run it I have to watch the intro. There is absolutely no way to skip it, and after going through this for a few times it actually becomes annoying.
So.... anybody knows how I can skip/disable it? I did my google research previous to posting this here, but the solutions found through google did nothing unfortunately. When I say "solutions" I mean changing the "first time" and "show intro" values to 0 in the registry keys, and also launching the game in compatibility mode, as well as an administrator.
I simply don't know what else to do anymore (yes, I DID close the registry window after I changed the value).
So, if anyone knows how I can skip the intro please, I'm all ears

Press any key on keyboard?
For really, the only time you can't cancel is when you have installed the game and play it for the first time (it is marked with "Testing").

I pressed ENTER, SPACE and ESCAPE. And later on I started bashing, and furiously smashing random AND multiple keys on the keyboard. It won't bloody skip it

HD mod skips intro videos. Just download latest version and install into h3 folder.

The intro didn't start every time for my version, just the first time I ran the game. But yes, I could not skip it either.

i changed my wog intro back to the original nwc intro(along with the original game menu music). i only have to click if i don't want to see it, which is no problem.

Well, I'm telling you that for me nothing worked, except for ALT+F4, and ALT+CTRL+DEL
But it's cool now, gonna go play some H3 in an hour or so...

Sorry this came like almost a decade after. Mainly this could come in handy for others who returned to HOMM3 after so long.
I'm not sure which and how you meant when you said you changed the registry for the values at "first time" and "show intro". So, I'm placing the instructions given from another here in a clear set where it worked fine for me.
Close the game program before changing the registry and be careful not to mess with other registries if you're not sure what you're doing. Best safety, backup your registry before you make changes to it. So, you could always restore the way it was earlier.
Change these from the Windows Registry Editor (There are 2 folder addresses with 4 keys to modify as seen below)
From Start > Run > Regedit > Enter.
Go to:
A.)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeNew World ComputingHeroes of Might and MagicŪ III1.0]
1.)"Show Intro"=dword:00000001
(To change the value from 00000000 to 00000001, double click at the name OR right click on the name "show intro" and click modify and in the value data box, type 1 and then enter. The hex value will then be as 00000001. Ensure the value is checked as hexadecimal. Where the hex should be as 00000000 as indicated, type value data as 0. Do the same for the rest.)
2.)"First Time"=dword:00000000
B.)
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTVirtualStoreMACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeNew World ComputingHeroes of Might and MagicŪ III1.0]
1.)"Show Intro"=dword:00000001
2.)"First Time"=dword:00000000
Note: If you have upgraded the game to any version above 1.0, the keys "Show Intro and "First Time" may not be there in the registry address as the upgrade may already have included its function to automatically enable you to skip the intro at your mouse click.
When done, you could try starting the game again.

Is that necessary? You just have to watch it to the end once. And the game doesn't check if you really watched it, you can do something else while it is doing its thing
His problem was, he kept ctrlaltdeling it and never let it run to the end

Likewise, for any HD mod user, I believe simply going to the Tweaks page and changing the intro value does the job as well.
