Interesting Articles

A lot of gripping articles have been linked in HC, especially in the OSM threads. I thought it would be a good idea to have a single thread where you can easily get your hand on such good reads. As more are linked, this thread would turn into a place where you can lay back on the couch with your tablet and pick some brainstorming about any subject.

All of these, except the first one, have already been shared here. So my opening post is meant to collect them in one place rather than to present them. Whenever you read some interesting blog or article, you are welcome to drop it here.

This might end up being an enjoyable place for me. Is this supposed to just be a link archive or are discussions about these articles encouraged here? Because I will certainly have things to say when I get around to actually reading these tomorrow.

Comments and discussions are perfectly okay, of course. But I'm hoping it wont turn into a few links buried under piles of unoriginal polemic.

I don't know too much about modern-day Turkey as in mentality or much else about how your people are perceived as immigrants, but as far as I'm concerned, this is an interesting issue that deserves attention. Thank you for sharing.

How about this one? It's about Wikipedia being "ruled" by those with biased views and start unblocking "valuable" editors who did offend the rules.

Gravitational waves: breakthrough discovery after two centuries of expectation by Tim Radford

"For me the most exciting thing is we will literally be able to see the big bang. Using electromagnetic waves we cannot see further back than 400,000 years after the big bang. The early universe was opaque to light. It is not opaque to gravitational waves. It is completely transparent."

Galaad, I guess you added another article to your original post by editing. It gets harder to pick the new ones as they accumulate. Why not post the new ones in new posts, it's not like we'll run out of thread space. It will be much easier to follow that way.

Ok, as said earlier the most recent one is always the most on top of the list (so in that case the one from Paul Craig Roberts), the reason I'm editing is that I like to have everything centered in one post, but I get your point, I will also post a new reply with latest entry (or entries) from now on.

because this link won't last forever, i'll post the contents of the article. i copied it to a text file, since posting it here is ridiculous(i had posted it here, but it's way too long).

It really touches you to read how reasonable, historically accurate, yet still idealistic his points are, when you think of the personal family tragedies he had to endure.

I love Slavoj Zizek, you can find a bunch of his lectures all over the place, mostly on youtube, but his way of speakin takes getting used to.
