This looks nice,

and having 2 monitors can still fix the issue of not having it in game.

"Alt + tab" is a good way of getting it done too. Unlike the FPS games here this is not a problem .

Third one is not made by me. It is from a game called Path of Exile. Just wanted to show how it looks visually.

Funny, because I was thinking about this a few days ago.

About Ultimates; I know neither of these ideas is a glorious one but for me "I just want the info" so I know what the heck to pick.

1. Take the University (or whatever object...Seer's Hut?) and make the copy shared object for another map-object of a different color (red = secret-fire)or adding embedded torches etc., something to easily tell them apart and when triggered a pop-up with the faction list opens. i.e. Click a faction-icon and then either opens a picture of a scroll with the skill icon path to reach the ultimate OR just a text string of the path, maybe written in the awesome font Papyrus.

2. For having each Hero you play have a way to "simply" reveal what the path is...the text for faction ultimate path could be inserted in the Bio? Not a pretty idea but at least I could get the info.

Personally I would like the 2nd Uni-idea a lot better than the skillwheel because I wouldn't mind at all going to an object on the map "to gain wisdom". <L>

I think now I got you on both matters. What I want to say is that the look as you see it now is far from finished. I did this just to see how all skills will fit. There will be thorough description for each skill/perk when you hover on it, this is for certain but it will require some heavy search/copy/paste cause there are about 250+ elements in total.

Regarding the skill progression, there will be something to match the path progression of perks for certain. I have some ideas for the special ones that require perks from multiple skill trees but I cant say anything before I test a few things.

In few words I will try to make it as user friendly and descriptive as possible but for now I am just adding functionality and go as far with the design as to arrange that functionality and to also seems satisfactory to some extend.

the idea with "Seers hut" image and "University" is great. I will see how I can use it (or not <L> )

P.S.

May be I may add something like an index/glossary of skills.

Sorry, I likely misunderstood. I thought you were working on something for use "outside-the-game"; my ideas were directed towards an easy in-game solution.

I think I misunderstood you. I read your message again today and I think  I got you know. You want the specials to easily presented cause the way perks/skills are shown now it is a big mesh and new players wont get which one has special requirements.

Amazing work, but the installer is weird it stops at 50% and leaves a screen open, however after you close it, it is still properly installed.

Also all stronghold classes have access to shatter light.

Basically the installer consists of 2 things - Ruby interpreter ~12 MB and the app ~3MB. I think the integrated packager is not that good. I will see if there is a better solution for porting to windows.

@Elvin, what OS do you use? what architecture?

I know that but I am aware that also all of them have access to Shouting and Learning so I had to describe this somehow. I will think of something in the future release.

NEW VERSION RELEASED!

0.30 is up and running start downloading NOW!

Moving the 0.20 version changes from the main topic to here for history purposes.

Open Skillwheel v0.20 changes:

- Changed Dark/Light/Summoning/Destrcution Shatters text to fit the window

- Fixed "Arcane Exaltation" perk name (mystyped as arcane exalation)
- Fixed "Enlightenment" skill description for basic/advanced/expert levels - "Hero receives +1 to one of his primary stats for every five/four/three levels" instead of "Hero receives +1 to one of his primary stats for every four/three/two levels"
- Fixed "Basic Necromancy" description - "Increases the number of dark energy points." instead of "Influences the number of dark energy points."
- Fixed "Engineering" perk description - "war machines" instead of "warmachines"

Open Skillwheel v0.30 changes:

- Added: Pop up window to present descriptions on hover

- Changed: code to be more agile and skill/perk count independent ( will help future import/export for different skill variations).
- Changed: Leadership and Necromancer leadership (and their perks) now provide different description based on what each gives.
- Changed: Skillwheel presentation change from square to circle.

- Fixed: Obsolete description cache that activated hovers on emtpy cells and provided text of perks from previous chosen class.
- Fixed: Possible crash when you dont have "Vivaldi" or "Bell MT" fonts. Now fonts are reset to default if you dont have them.
- Fixed: "Fog Veil" text "...damage is decreased by 10%." to "...damage is decreased by 25%."
- Fixed: "Empathy" text ATB value changed from 10% to 5%

I have windows 8 but I could follow the steps nonetheless. Haven't done a restart yet but so far it hasn't work.
