homm3 beta screenshots
these may have already been posted before, but i found some homm3 beta screenshots, and figured they'd be cool to show here.
look at how cool the ocean looks! i'd love to see that animated. if anyone knows where i can download the beta version(it used to be available on the betaarchive.com website i found these screens on) of homm3, hit me up. i may be able to remake that ocean.
edit: i'm going to be actively searching for homm3 beta stuff now(i wasn't before, just ran across this stuff by accident). i'll update with anything else i find.

it was available on betaarchive.com. i'm trying to find the page i found before, but the website loadtimes are sporadic.
edit: no luck. i remember seeing the page on there where there were links to download homm1-3 betas, but they didn't work. the webpage was formatted in a 90's style.

I read somewhere it was never released. Just a sketch of H3 RoE.
That water doesn't look very smooth to me, then map creatures look very unpolished. Looks like slightly different perspective too.

the beta was available. people played it. it was available for download in the late 90's(and possibly early 2000's).
it's somewhere on the internet, i'm sure of it. we can find it; i have no doubts.

Beta was never released. I highly doubt someone actually played it. The best thing You can do is to look for the NWC developer and ask him/her.

so the youtube videos were just the developers posting gameplay?
one thing i KNOW is true: the website that has all those betas available for download used to have the homm1-3 betas available to download online.
and if it WAS online, then someone should be able to FIND IT online. regardless of what any authorized publication might say. i mean, where are you guys getting your info from? because what i've seen points in the opposite direction...

The graphics looks a little washed out and the creatures on the map looks like they are cell shaded.
It's interesting and it does'nt look bad, but the version we got looks better.

A few things would have been nice to be added. the obstacle in the swamp combat looks pretty neat.
Today Beta mostly changes numbers and not graphics, see how drasticly they changed HoMM out of beta :-)

dat ocean tho. i seriously think they made a mistake by not implementing that in the game release. it's far too pretty to have just cast aside like last week's veggieloaf.

i'm still searching online. came across a homm3 demo and it turned out to be the homm3 erathia demo, and not the beta i'm looking for. i'm not going to give up.
edit: scratch that; i'm close to quitting right now. the websites i'm having to scan for this are so mothersnowing slow, it makes me want to empty a whole mag into my snowing computer. this snow's ruining my snowing day. god DAMN.

We've used to see H3 graphics for years. And now theses 'new' graphics seem to us something fresh. But... they are still ugly and I'm glad that we get H3 as is widely known!

found the webpage i was looking for before. sadly, all i could find were variations of the regular demo, and not a beta demo.
still, i have hope. somewhere, someone on this earth has it. and they have internet access. it's just a matter of time.
