Do you prioritise any towns first? I.E Castle or is it more random?

The 3D model of angels are very beautiful. I just find strange "angel" has golden hairs for now. His upgraded version is splendid too !
The .def files of these can be downloaded somewhere ?

Many persons and groups started mod(s) very few of them were finished. Modding is a nevereding story... You begin with one thing then find some other may be changed too then... You continue and then you see the "end" too far. Many persons stops, because its a looong work and not easy...

I just fear, like some many other's work, it will be loosed if project isn't finished... I've found some entire town project unfinished but very magnificent creatures were done and lost (the .def weren't released, just pictures of creatures) !

I'm seraching for ressources to make a "rework" of ancient creatures. I want to equilibrate skills, spells, creatures, specialities but changing a bit the old not beautiful creatures is one of things I try to do. I'm not nor informatician, nor designator... So I have to learn all. Its time consuming...
I know to change some things now, using the very nice tools like MMarchive, Def editor, ... made by fans. I thank them alot because without them, I shall not even have done anything.

I'd be very happy to have some angel to replace the "old ones" (I find not nice the old archangel). I found the 6 winged angel and the same with 2 wings done by "Itsjustime". Both of them looks "identical". They are beautiful but animations are not "perfect". Two of wings of 6 are not at good place when the 6 winged one dies. His left hand has some problems and I find its attack not very impressive. So, I'll have to work on it or find some other. And the non upgraded one looks too similar... So I shall find a solution to make them look more different...
Every creature like this one cost me 4h to 6h of work and not perfectly done (I don't have nor the best skills nor the best tools for it). So, I spend time on here but some other have done this... Its a waste of time... And there is many many creatures 150x4h = 600h... A bit too much for me alone...

Nephretes waits VCMI 1.0 comes out for his new oasis town but one year later, VCMI team have not finished the patch... It has been near 2 years since last HotA version came out...
I don't blame anyone for the latency of next version of VCMI nor HotA ! I know its a lot of work and they have probably other things to do than finish a mod for some very old game...

But I suggest a share "part by part" of some work is done. If you do, modders still here shall have fun and enjoy the new stuff, players who just want to change some creature "old" look shall be happy and maybe community shall live a bit more. If no, we'll wait some years (and some won't wait and give up) and we will make two or three times the "same" work...

I fear to be too late to make a project of "equilibration" of game ; not many persons look to be still here and less of them up for it. But I find very crucial to do that, more than only adding a town, if game is not "a fair strategy game" and if some "races or heroes" are overpowered, compared to others, game is less intresting (its just my opinion). I'd like to see "all heroes" can be played, all creatures may be used differently... I'd like this game be more a stragegy game...

Its something like 17 years this game came out, yea, I'm probably a bit late to find many persons for this. Other new games are here and nicely done (with less bugs, more stuff and better graphics). But I'd like to finish this try... By luck some persons are still here and give me a hand answering to my newbie questions about modding and helping me even when my bad english don't help for explanations. I thank them for it once more even if I'm not able to finish. It has been one year I started, I'll try one more year.

Yeah, modding is never ending story.
What can I say? Reading polish forum I know that none of big projects are dead or abandoned for now.
For MDT Team, New Alternatives mod has prority now. First mod version should include creature alternative choice in four towns. Works are advanced but there's many small and irratiated things that must be done to finish mod (mostly json coding).

Nephretes doesn't wait for VCMI 1.0 to release Oasis. He's perfectionist, more he learns about modelling, more he hates his old works and start moddeling again That's the reason Oasis is not finish, and Alternatives mod has priority.

About Kuririn's New Upgrades... Long story, bro Kuririn one day claims that he gives up project at all, the second day he returns to work. And so on He want to release his mod with all creatures upgraded. Yeah, it' enormous work for one man (he's some kind of lone wolf and rather don't like companions but lately he starts thinking about release his mod with one additional upgrades per town.

And there's Trith, co-author of Forge and Grove Town. He returned to h3 modding after years of absence. And he is fresh of ideas. Court town is in progress, much work is done, and now he helps MDT to create alternatives.

I know, it's only words, but chances that players will get some partially finished mods "soon (TM)" is quite big.
