Choreagraphed Combat

Thread for some of your most cherished battles.

I think one famous one is Star War Episode 1 between Darth Maul and the two jedi. I've always loved that fight despite the general crapiness of those movies. That's a very well-known fight.

The most recent one I've seen that I'm in love with is in the last movie of the Ip Man trilogy. It's Ip Man (Donnie Yen) vs an infamous mobster boss in Hong Kong (Mike Tyson). So intense:

I agree, but they're all good. The choreography of all the Ip Man's is just as awesome, but the surrounding plot isn't quite as good. I'm a bit partial to WW2 era though. The Japanese general in the 1st one is one of my favorite antagonists. There's just this badass aura of death around him. That scene with him is great.

I haven't seen Ong Bak. It's on Netflix and I've passed it up several times.

Pity... They are seldom realistic. Especially one vs two or more...

Nice thread!

Hard to find specific fight scenes on youtube without stupid techno/house music ruining it all on top.

Yuen biao in Twinkle, twinkle little stars (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung).

Tony Jaa in the awesome Ong bak 2 (try to get thai version though).

I don't think anybody has come to replace Jackie Chan yet. Donnie Yen is an amazing martial artist/stunt artist, but the guy doesn't have Jackie's charisma. Jackie Chan could actually hold his own as an actor in addition to doing amazing moves on screen.

Jackie Chan is not the strongest but his charisma is indeed unique, just the fact he fights using every single object around him overshadows the others.

He is not the strongest, but if we talk about choreographed combat he may very well be the best. His fights are always complex and incredibly fun to watch.
