@phoenix4ever Is there anywhere I can download your map? You seem pretty much always mention it on every possible post I see you, whenever I'm reading your thoughts.
I'm just curious, so much toking about it but dunno if anyone has ever seen it, or me at the least did not.

No it's not public, I update the map constantly and play it with my own rules.
I think the map is supposed to be played with those rules only, but they are probably not for everyone...
So only I and a few friends play it.

I'd write the rules(or wog modify the map with scripts in order to build them into the map), and share it on a new topic if I was You. Perhaps it will be an interesting unordinary experience to play it for everyone, and I'd like to see the ideas behind it. It's, with full respect, imo stupid, to not post a map, just beacuse it's for "chosen" only.

@Rakso you came late to this discussion... I've been saying that for years. The worst part is he's always complaining about how things go bad in his map because of this and that but no one knows what he is talking about, cause he never thinks the map is ready for publishing.

LOL I'm flattered people wants to play my map and maybe also with my rules, but like I said they are probably not for everyone.
All the debate about changing things refer to original game, I can't expect you guys to know what the heck I'm talking about if it refers to my own rules.
@Bloodsucker The only thing I have "complained" about is that it is frustrating AI can go anywhere with Town Portal, while I am limited to nearest town, but that is my own decision, as original Town Portal makes the game extremely easy and boring imo. I do wish Town Portal worked differently though, both for human and AI.

Oh, well. Didn't knew that. I'm quite new to HC, registered half year ago. I believe I must have skipped those conversations of you two, beacuse tl;dr. I'm glad you have the same thoughts as me regard that.

You can overwork that using Inferno gateway's. Removing alliances between AI's(so that they shouldn't town portal into eachother's towns or plan ahead carefully(if you're on HotA), Town portals map objects placement.

I'm used to overpass some HoMM3 standard mechanics on my own Gothic 2 map from quite over a year, so you're not the only mapmaker who doesn't limit himself to HoMM3 mechanics in mapcraft.

I heard there is supposed to come a whole magic rework. Nerf of slow etc. but that's after 1 year time from now I believe, alltogether with the new faction.

I'm also making a map for HotA, but I "WoGify" it a bit, but only a little.

About the current fire magic on my own map I've used to max out sp on magical heroes going up ahead faster than any other stat available, so that + considering the ending stage of the map, where armies tier 7 creatures count as such: around~200. Armageddon killing 50 of them in a stack at one blow is definately something worth considering to cast. All fire magic damage spells can proof effective if you're likely to go ahead meeting on the map heroes with alot of sp, but it proofs more to be like a "texture pack only" if a fireball is used dealing equal damage to an Ice ring.

Frenzy(200% attack 0 defense) spell is really good on ranged creatures also, if your map is relying on gathering sharpshooters/enchanters.

Berserk is overpowered obviously, but AI on HotA works differently than the regular SOD one, so it's smart enough to dispell it and use itself too.

Fire shield is a situational spell worth use on a creature that's supposed to block an enemy ranged creature for a few turns, and get resurrected once it dies. Probably most of the enemy army should run on that creature in that case, prooving the fire shield to be of excellent use.

Curse is good against some towns with large damage output. Conflux too... Depends if you're having the resistance orb artifact.

Not a big fan of Sacrifice, so can't say too much, but I've heard it proofs to be really good too.

Blind is obviously a great spell that can give tactical advantages.

That's imo.

i moved Dimension Door to fire magic its fits much better there. makes all magic skills useful not only earth & air viable

Do you allow 4 casts per day or just 1 or 2? Remember that Beastmasters and Rangers can't learn Fire Magic, so you might have f***** them up? But yeah I kinda agree with DD being Fire (But only 1 cast per day) then all schools have useful adventure spells, only problem is Air Magic becomes very weak, if you "steal" DD from it, it might be better stealing from Earth which is definitely the strongest school...
I am also really annoyed by the Disguise (Air) spell, as it's completely useless VS AI, I could of course just ban it, but that will make learning Blind (Fire) too easy imo.

haha yeah i knew that so i actually also made every class able to learn all skills. like anyone can learn necromancy and even a overlord can get navigation

Okay, I guess that's fair then. Necromancy for non-necro heroes and Leadership for necro heroes is perhaps a bit odd though.
