Is there a way to become an owner of this thread? I would like to continue maintaining the NCF pack and certain updates will have to be done at some point.

AFAIK it is not possible for a user to edit another user's post, only appointed moderators may do that. A solution would be that you start a new thread linking to the old one, and I can rate your thread as project so you can edit it until the end of times.
