This can be easily done by anyone. Just modify the main mod.json file and delete or make into comments lines referring to undesirable elements. Like this:

Sorry for the long hiatus. I have a new toy that is just too fun. I've been addicted to it for the last 2 weeks. It's honestly that good. And today's idea was to recreate Rat Mod's creatures in it. I also put in a clue about what you might expect in the next update:

Unfortunately, even the complete line-up of creatures does not a playable faction make. The most essential thing, namely, designing the town screen and all of its structures, is still a gargantuan undertaking that I don't feel comfortable tackling (yet!).

That part is brutal indeed. But we still can have fun with a non-housed faction lineup

Makes me happy to know that someone has fun with it. From the beginning I knew it would be a work of long progress, so I wanted to at least give the community some creatures (and heroes) to play with.

Oh I have no problem in coming up with where Rat Mod's creatures should dwell. But it's much harder bringing that into life. That said, it seems that AI is also able to help in the conceptualisation step, at the very least.



I added some nice looking buildings to the project's album. There are also two new ones that I made in the meantime. Have a look if you'd like.

It just so happened that I checked if abilities of all the creatures in Rat Mod were working in VCMI 1.4.2. And it turns out at least one of them isn't (it was in 0.99 though!), so in a retrospect, I made a right call not to agree to include them into the VCMI launcher, because I'm really annoyed by this kind of scenario.

And well, it's true that I haven't planned on completing the Rat Mod in the near future. But I definitely won't, until Updaters are fixed and work as intended.

Not using MM8 sprite defs is anything but jadame in nature, and i protest the lack of Ratman and rooks from MM8.
