Yes but era's not there. Vanilla Heroes 3 is the only option. It was there, but I got an error 5, so I updated the HD mod, and now it's not there. So I tried again over a new clean copy of H3 HD, and this time era wasn't there to begin with.

Please try redownload updater from google or yandex.

I tried Yandex this time, because google was the one I tried originally, and now it's listed as an option again but I'm getting error code 5 when I try to launch and it prompts me to update the HD mod. This happened the first time and when I updated the HD mod the option to launch ERA went away and only vanilla heroes 3 was available. Is there something else I need to install first that I don't have?

That is really strange. Can you try to download from here:
https://yadi.sk/d/u7L2iDiDFEWewA
and use the HoMM ERA HD Eng.exe and install in a new clean folder. Dont update the HD Mod.

Error code 5 again. Am I launching it from the wrong place? I'm trying to launch it from the hd mod launcher, so I don't think so...

I dont know error code 5, can you show a Screenshot of that error.
Please try the following: go to your H3 folder and start the H3.exe,
Does it work?
Now go to HD Launcher and create New H3 HD.exe, does it work? If it doenst work until this point, it has nothing to do with era.
Now try to start era.exe from your folder. Works?
Now open the Mod Manager and disable everything except WoG core and start the game?
Report back.

Error code 5 usually means that something isn't updated properly, which is why it prompts me to update the HD mod when I get it. The problem is that when I do that, ERA stops being an option in the HD launcher for some reason. I tried launching the mod manager and nothing happened. I think I must be missing some important files. When I try to launch ERA directly, it tells me that windows can't find the file. I'm gonna take a break and play something else. Come to think of it, I think I had the exact same problem while trying to install the Succession Wars mod.

Certainly an unusual behaviour, the link I provided you contains all files, that is for sure. So maybe during the installtion your Anti Virus deletes some important files? Try disabling it during the installation.
Also could you start Heroes 3 the normal way, meaning without WoG/ERA or HD, just straight from the folder by clicking the exe`?

Some primary skills icons remains H3 style?
Reinstall v1.35 cleanly (delete whole era folder and reinstalled).
Wog options all-off or all-default both result in this.
How to troubleshoot this issue?
I took a look at mods/wog/xxx.pac, and the pskil*.def is wog icons.

I use Game Build UPDATE to v1.35 (09/06/2020) with ERA 3.0.4
Any idea how I can update it to the new ERA V. 3.1.2? Unfortunately I did not make it, but I would like to try the latest version.
I love HEROES and WOG/ERA, the best game ever :-)

Thanks for your quick feedback. Unfortunately I can't get it right.
I tried your instruction both with a clean installation of Game Build V1.35 and alternatively with a clean installation of the GOG version. Always crashed ERA at startup.
Until Era 2.9.14 I could always do the installation
1) GOG
2) Era - using the EXE
3) Wog Scripts
4) HD
5) further mods
Maybe you still have a tip for me, I want to play :-)

Only Gem Mod still causes trouble. If acitvated, I get an error message belonging to WOGNDlg.txt :-(

Hi Bersy,
Finally made it :-)
I've now got ERA 3.1.2 running with the scripts that are also included in the game build. HD ist the newest release .
But with the Game Enhancement Mod (GEM) I had to disable the plugin "wog native dialogs.era" in the Mod Manager, then everything works. If I acitvate this plugin I get this error "Ressource Manager. GetText could not find the "text" ressource "WogNDlg.txt".
For this a hint where I can find this file?

Thanks, now everything runs fine. Era 3 plus Advances Classes Mod are amazing

HD+ is greyed out (disabled) for me. Any ideas why? I tried
- The downloaded 5.0 RC94
- The updated 5.2 RC5
- The full version
- The light version, on top of my "Complete" installation
Running trough wine on linux.
