Ok, third Crag Hack scenario on Impossible was even harder.
That enemy town behind the Border gate, what a load of...

I only managed by finding the correct Lich stack to kill, there was no chance I could have defeated the AI player.

Did you develop your hero properly? it pays off to get all the stat boosts in early missions if you want to lolstomp the later ones. Also proper skills and spells.

Yeah, I got the whole package and visited all stat boosters.
Expert Earth, Air, Wisdom, Offense, Archery, Tactics, and Logistics.
Still have to pick the last skill.

Anyway, I am on the last Crag Hack scenario and for now, I am rotflstomping enemies on Impossible. Killing off their main dudes is probably the key to win, I managed to defeat one and got that nice no penalty bow.

Plus, no more 35-50 dead marksmen for each casting turns.
Also, I got almost 40 attack on Crag, so lower defense opponents do not stand a chance.

Ok guys, made it to Unholy Alliance campaign playing on Impossible.
So far, it was a fun ride and I am glad that I found the guts to play Impossible and proud that I made it without even looking at any walkthrough.
It really seems I become a decent player after all these years!

Now..here comes this dreaded hero reroll thing I read about and I have 2 questions about Yog:

1) Would it be a good idea to have Expert Earth and Air without Wisdom?

2) Is Wisdom necessary for him?

Please no spoilers of any kind, just say yes or no

EDIT:
Nevermind, got a lucky reroll with Earth, Wisdom and Logistics.

One more question:

I am at the first Sandro Mission of the Unholy Alliance campaign.

I have the enemy cornered in a Necropolis and can easily defeat, visited all guilds and +stats locations.

Now, I realized that I COULD abuse the Sacrifice Altar and try to max out the level cap. It would take quite some time, as Sandro starts at level 25 in that scenario and the cap is 40.
Do you think is it worth the hassle and the reduced score?

Just say yes or no, no spoilers of any kind, please

Dont bother with maxing out Sandro. In last 2 maps, Ai Sandro wont be same as your Sandro.

Yeah as you discovered SoD doesn't have the most finely-tuned difficulty in the world. Crag's campaign is significantly more challenging than the others.

No, not worth it.

Thought so, he's already monstrously overpowered with those 2 artifacts.

Rise of the Necromancer is one of the most enjoyable campaigns IMHO. It's laughably easy, almost as easy as Seeds of Discontent, but painting map after map with your unending stacks of Liches is just a blast.

(Except for my most recent playthrough when the RNG gods decided not to give Expert Necro as an option until like level 8... unending hordes of Wights is still fun, just not as fun).

Oh boy the first Specter of Power scenario...
I was forced to use the old bait and switch to get the enemy hero out of Lord Haart town. Also, got no town portal.Thankfully, expert slow and Implosion.
Man can't wait to end this tour de force, I will definitely play Chronicles after all this.

And so it ends.
I completed all campaigns, including SoD on Impossible.

I feel strangely hollow, it has been a very long, fun, demanding and occasionally frustrating experience (since early April, I played nothing else but this) and it really helped me to get off my mind off family and work troubles which abounded and still vex me.

I think I'll take a break, will probably play some "Battlezone 98': Redux" I got for very cheap in the summer sale.

Meanwhile, I already set up the Chronicles campaigns to be played on the HD mod, so I will be able to jump into Antagarich right away when I feel it. Following that, it's going to be HOTA time.

To everybody, thanks for the support.
This community is wonderful and I will still check it daily as usual, especially to follow HOTA news.
Glad I added it to my ad-block white-list
