Any work being done with this game, modders?

IMO this has the best graphics and great potential, but I also understand it has no RMG map editor and no mod tools. Having said that, is there anything we can do with this game at all? I wish this game had RMG, and the "weapon and class system" should be offline workable. I hate having to play online for these features.

HoMM6 can't be modded. Simple as that. It's just almost impossible and no one even bothers to mod it since you can't even get creatures into and out of it.

Actually you can get models out of the game files. Together with textures.

The big problem are animations - there is no simple way to get those working with bones, you get just messy stuff. So you will have to redo them all.

As you can see HERE I exported some creatures with textures from H6 and imported those in H7 but they are just static meshes, no animations.

Same goes for any adventure map object or icons.

If you are looking into modding go back to H3/H5, there you can mod almost everything )

How did Zahar make animations for Chakram Dancer (heroes 6 into Heroes 5) then??

Ah ok. It looked so good so I assumed the animation could be exported/imported as well.
