Interview with Michael Wolf (Level Designer of Heroes 3)

Hey guys and girls!

Just wanted to let you all know that I, through Celestial Heavens have done another interview. Part 1 is just released and we talk map making and the development of Heroes 3!

We also learn a fun fact about what Shadow of Death was called internally by the devs. I laughed a lot at it!

Hope you enjoy it and just let me know any feedback you have, good or bad, I am always up for developing and being better.

Are you sure? I can't find it, but then again, I am really bad at finding things on this forum!

Thanks for the great feedback. It's lovely and I was not expecting the kind of response we have gotten.. It's already up to 700 views. I'm stunned to be honest and I am working hard on setting up a new interview. I am swamped in math work right now though, but hey, I will make some time to edit and release Part 2 asap!

It's well-deserved! I just shows community is still on the lookout and have fond memories, as well as questions, on how these games came into being, even after all these years. It also may work as motivation and inspiration for those who are doing their own business and projects, even if not HoMM-related. =)

P.S.: on a small side note, is it possible to just decrease a little the size of this image? It's huge. ^_^

I removed it fully instead!

It's so much fun to make something that gets so much feedback. I have been involved in podcasts, tried making YouTube-videos etc in other forms but this video has received so much response. And the Tim Lang one too, I mean. 17 comments. That's huge for me, I am used to maybe 1. And I am not saying that it's all about that, but know the content is wanted makes such a difference.

I kind of felt that I failed to bring as many good questions as I wanted to ask, but then again, it was late in the evening (we ended around midnight), my head was in 10 different places at once and I had been struggling with the technology for a good hour before this. I hope I can set up another interview with yet another Level Designer though, I just have to sit down and write an e-mail.  

I can't afford one of those "light rings" at the moment, which I desperately need now that it's pitch black outside here in Sweden. So (as I am sure you have seen) this was my emergency setup:



Would love to hear if you, or anyone else have any good ideas for interviews too. I am trying to get a hold off Jen Bullard, but also wrote an e-mail to Lavapotion, who are making Songs of Conquest, fingers crossed!
