Vote your Favourite / pet town (NOT
"Surprisingly" enough there is already four topics for this, but NO polls that I could find about this
As any Heroes player surely knows, statistics are important. I want to have a reliable statistic about the favourite town of Heroes 3.
Not the most powerful, not the most competitive, but rather, the one you personally like the most. The one you think the game could NOT do without, the most essential one, so to speak.
This poll is also so I can gauge the popularity of towns if I ever make an "Heroes 3 factions - in Heroes 4!" mod. Since we are limited to six H4 towns, inevitably some factions will not make the cut. In other words, the prize would be getting your favourite H3 faction in a whole different game. Since now we can edit magic, creatures and graphics, even having the town screen from H3 HD.
So vote! And tell why in the comments. The destiny of the universe depends on it!

Too bad I can't vote for my two favorite towns - Cove and Ramparts, so I just voted for Rampart.
What I like about Cove is the Den of Thieves, the two upgrades for the Pirate unit, the Sorceress' negative effects on each shot, the Nix and the Haspid. I really like pirate stuff in general and the theme song and the town screen aesthetic are spot on.
As for Rampart, I like the Treasury, the Fountain of Fortune, the fact that they have a level 5 Mage Guild, how tough most of their units are, like the Dwarf, Dendroid, Unicorn and Green Dragons are my favorite dragons. I also like the music and the foggy mountain aesthetic with the gray sky, it looks really fresh and energizing jut to look at.

Despite there not being fortress units in H4, an existing Restoration of Erathia town should have priority over a "planned" town (I am unable to edit the post, and there is a 10 option limit).

Well, now I feel like I have to give my own justification for my vote.
While Rampart is historically my town (ust look at my signature), I have to go to the Conflux this time. But why?
Some will say "Conflux is just a made up town to recycle preexisting creatures!" - In part, they are right. But I always liked Elementals, and I thought it a shame you can't play as them. And what about magic? Not a single hero of all the other towns starts with an elemental magic.
Conflux was made to fill this void. The problem is, it was rushed and originally unbalanced (plus Psychic/Magic Elementals are meh), but the concept itself is top notch and it does fill a necessary niche. Though they went a bit overboard with the Great Aurora and Magic University, these aren't the worst balance offenders but a quirk with Armageddon only. Ultimately the fail was Armageddon and Phoenix and not the elemental magics or having the four elementals in the Conflux.
I think, if they would have given a version of the Faerie Dragons (1 per week, less total HP than two black dragons) instead, everything would have been fine.
Ultimately the H4 Preserve fusion of Rampart and Conflux was a sucessful fusion thematically (the same can't be said of their Necropolis...), but it does lose things I liked a lot like Dendroids (what the *** is a waspwort?), Dwarves and Green Dragons, and "gains" silly things like Leprechauns...
(Anyways, I also would like to bring a "Preserve" to H3, but I have no H3 modding skills :v, and doing this town relies on things like portal of summoning and special magic, so no easy task. )
Conflux being a northern hill greenland, with middle east style architecture, also breaks some molds and stereotypes and brings to it a "golden age" feel. The bios of conflux heroes as all in H3 are short, but they do show a sort of "ecologist/multicultural" theme, like the conflux "Calls" to their chosen ones of any race or background, and I founf that a nifty detail since the Conflux is the voice of the world and the elemental planes.

Shame on you for not adding Fortress.
Swamp Fortress is something totally unique in the series and I like the defensive nature and fun creature abilities of Fortress.
I also like Inferno and Stronghold.
I have a soft spot for the underdogs.

I wanted to add it, I just ran out of slots  if nobody voted Forge it could have become fortress. Or did you vote that way?
As a once-student of anthropology I am a fan of the mesoamerican civs the Fortress aesthetic is based on, and I think h3 captured well the "Mayan lost city in the jungle" aesthetic.

You have memory from 2004? Because that's the last message from those threads...
Even if there was by chance, it's safe to say those stats from 17 years ago are pretty obsolete as far a gauging the current preferences of alive players are concerned

I voted Cove, mainly because of how fun I find the aggressive abilities of the creatures! Venom, ranged death-stare, weakness & disruption ray, etc., plus the super speedy Level 4 and 7 units, let alone a third upgrade on the Level 3s. It's a fast faction that is everything Inferno wishes it was Also, I love that it allows you to focus on buff or damage spells whilst the creatures can do the rest

Well, there are three states of upgrading. Unupgraded/upgraded/upgraded again. But this is semantics.
I guess the vote for Cove was on the external site only since here it still has 0%
And I think people are voting Forge here just to troll since nobody said it was their favourite, and there are far less votes for it in the external site so far
