So, in light of this recent activity from Blizzardboy who casually returned to his usual ****posting only on his Blizzardgirl account (now silenced), can we get a verdict on the sincerity of this goodbye thread? I would like it if Geny especially gave a few words, but of course everyone else who fell for it is welcome.

I'm not going to defend Bliz on this. At all.
That, however, does not invalidate anything I said or felt. I choose what level of importance to give to events and how to respond to them. That's my decision and it's on me regardless of anyone else. What other people do with it is on them.

I will be very honest with you here and show you my end-game in all of this: if what you felt was a pang in your heart, if what you chose to do was place (fairly significant? forum context, of course) importance in a sketchy goodbye thread made by a notorious troll which warranted at the very least a minimum amount of skepticism, and if your reaction to me pointing to such inconsistencies was to become defensive as if I were invalidating (or even trampling on?) your feelings or reasons - can you then blame me if I thought of you that you were foolish and gullible? Answer me that and I won't push the issue any further. Because I believe I would be justified to see things that way.
You have been here on this forum for a very long time, longer than me, longer than most. How is it that you cannot see how many of these threads have proven to not be genuine, if only over time? Who did we have saying their goodbyes on our shared time here? Let's jog our memory: Markkur? One of the most impressive goodbye threads. But now he posts again. JoonasTo? A succinct goodbye with no explanation, quite his style. I know the reason and it looked like he wouldn't budge from his decision, but then started posting again after some years. Fred69? Open-ended goodbye thread because of some issues he claimed could prove fatal for him. He still posts years later. Me? A mock thread just to prove the point. Anyone can shed some convincing crocodile tears to impress people who are eager to take it at face value.
Suffice to say we've been through this enough times to maybe even tentatively formulate a statistical argument, or have a rough idea of one in our heads. There is also the other aspect of the poster in question. And let's not kid ourselves, Blizzardboy is no Markkur. He has always been a troll to this community, even when serious. That's the kind of reputation he has garnered for himself, one he never seemed to fight against, but rather embrace. And also, let's not forget that this wasn't his first goodbye thread, this was. After which he returned, made a bunch of troll posts, and then wrote this thread. Can you see the recurring theme? And despite all that, with such ample room for doubt, a lot of people readily believed him, again.
Well, anyway... The one thing I did appreciate was this conversation, which I did enjoy. There are few fruitful endeavors (especially in a forum format) where you get to take a closer look at something to find some deeper understanding of the things we feel, think and do for some all too nebulous reasons sometimes. Moments of introspection can be eye-opening and is something I encourage.

You have every right to think me foolish or gullible. I don't much care whether you do, but you definitely have a reason to. And I don't mean that as an insult or a jab, it's just that there are some messages on this forum I care about and some that I do not.
And yes, I have been here long enough to know that one of the ultimate truths of HC is that any experienced active HC member should have at least one goodbye thread under his belt. I think it was TnT_Addict who could've made a collection of his ones. But I have also been here long enough to grow nostalgic about certain things. And I have also been here long enough to see a lot of people I shared time with go away, whether announced or otherwise. So when Bliz, who is deeply connected in my mind to such nostalgic eras, makes a goodbye thread it puts me in a certain mood and that mood pushes to wave belief rather than snub him and turn out to be wrong.
And that is the point of all this. I can control my action and to some extent my emotions. I cannot do that for others. So I will believe, if it feels right to me. And when it turns out that I was being fooled, that still doesn't make me wrong, because I made a decision based on my knowledge and my emotions and my preferences. And everyone else can do whatever they want.

Nope. I'm not as old-timer as Geny but more old-timer than you and there was a time when Blizz was so inventive in spamming, it didnt even feel like spamming. I remember he had this thread, pick A or B, he used to come up with such interesting A's and B's each week, when the thread finally became just a little less interesting, Corribus poked him "what's next blizz, coca cola or pepsi cola, dont let me lock this now, where's the creativity." Those were different times though.
Did he lose his touch, he did. But that's more about how the internet devolved into a polarized envorinment. You can say the same about Kip. Back when everything wasnt so sharp, their humor worked because their on-line personas were edgy caricatures of their real life observations. Then, they turned into the caricature of the caricature. Kind of inevitable because there was no depth on the platform they stood anymore.
Was it gullible to treat Blizz's farewell thread as a genuine farewell? We all knew he could come back. Personally, I dont think it was a trick, he had an impulsive "screw this, I'm out" moment, he really did scramble his password, but then the next day, it was another day for the caricature of the caricature, so he just created another account, he wasnt deceptive about it, he openly came back to post-truth. How can post-truth not work after all.
For last but not for least, it is not necessarily overdramatic to make farewell threads on-line. Would I make one, not unless I have some terminal sickness or something. But it's unnecessary to post to a farewell thread with "hah, what's the point of your thread, you want attention dont you, gotcha" etc. I think it's one of those situations where Pascal's Wager actually works: If it's true, I didnt act like jerk, if it's not, hey, what did I lose.

I feel like the two of you put it very well.
Blizz is a friend, of course I would choose to wish him well and say thank you for making my time here a lot more fun. It so happend that he didn't leave, doesn't make me any less grateful for a time spent well together. Gonna say thanks and bye to a bunch of other people too if i happen to catch their goodbye threads haha.

This is not an "alternative account." Goodness gracious.
Firstly, I would like to offer my thanks and my love for the moderators here who selflessly offer their services for the good of the community. I realize your job may often times be a thankless one, but it is because of your service that this community has run smoothly all of these years. Again, thank you.
Secondly, my son Blizzardboy may enjoy some harmless joking here and there, but I raised him to be a good and honorable man and he would never deliberately hurt anybody's feelings unless that person happened to be from Romania, in which case it is okay.
Thirdly, he is no longer able to login to his account because he scrambled his password in order to move on. I find it sickening that he would leave with kindness only to have his good name smeared by somebody making dramatic and lengthy posts behind his back  Is there no decency?
Fourthly, I admit that this might not be any of my business and I do try not to be an overbearing mother, but I occasionally do minor check-ups such as logging in to my son's bank account to check his payment activity, or perhaps look through his personal text messages or emails to make sure that everything is okay and that he is safe. So please, do not continue to spread false rumors that he was a "troll" or that he embraced "being a troll". He loved all of you very much.
