How to enable spells in quick combat?

Hi,

i use the hd lauchner, so my hero does not cast any spells during quick combat. i find that annoying so i would like to cast him spells. how can i enable that? someone was writing i should press "w", but if i do, absolutely nothing happens. someone can help me?
