Hey, what's up everybody?

I'm having some trouble here with text editing.
When I open SPTRAITS, the one that has all the data about spells, it is empty (it only has summon boat stats). I thought maybe it is a HotA thing, but the same happens with vanilla's .txt.

I don't know what's happening, I remember I did mod this no problem 5 years ago.

I think you need sergroj's tools - link. Particularly Txt Edit v1.4.1.

As you seem modding spells, consider trying the NewSpells plugin - link. Screenshots are there - link.

I'm having another problem now..

I have my txts ready to upload to the game, so I add them with MMArchive but then the game crashes on trying to open it

If you edited your txt in another editor before, the file would become corrupted. Another option is that you set some unapproprite values or expanded the txt in a way the game doesn't know how to parse.

None of that I believe, because I tested with a txt I had only edited with AFJ, CRTRAITS, the only weird values I saw there were that resource cost for creatures was very high, and I put literally the number it is supposed to be. Didn't expand it nor put a weird character or something.

If this problem persists, try to re-install the game, unpack a new and unaltered SPTRAITS.TXT and make one or two small changes, like 20 mana -> 25 mana and so on, then see if your changes will effect spells in the game. Also make sure you pack SPTRAITS.TXT back into .lod archive with the MMArchive tool (though it should also work if you simply put your txt into Data or _HD3_Data\Common folder).

I don't know man. It must be as you said on the first comment, I believe the same, but couldn't make it work.
Now I started all over again with clean copies, tested it with a single change and it goes fine. So thanks for helping me
