"Tired of the suffocating embrace of Elven customs and politics,
I sought my true calling elsewhere. Longing for a simpler life,
I ventured to the rugged lands of the Highlanders, forsaking
my scholarly pursuits. Yet it was from these stalwart barbarians
that I received lessons far richer than those confined to musty
Elvish tomes, learning of the wilderness, of survival,
of camaraderie, and yes... even of love."
Hiyah! Want to hear the story of Ergi the magnificent? Hero extraordinaire, seeker of pleasures, scholar of recreative substances and a drop-out from the esteemed High Elf academy?
Then you'll have the chance, soonish... probably. More details this Saturday!
And sorry that I didn't make it with the promised dose of details right after the teaser's launch (that was the plan). Nevertheless, the proclamation alone worked wonders, because I was able to do (almost) everything I had planned this past month in just one day. Amazing.
But let's get to the point. I have a little video and a handful of information for you. Here's the video:
As I mentioned in the teaser, I'm going to do a series of maps. This time I'll take the VCMI's campaign functionality for a spin. Especially since we'll be stuck with one guy for the entirety of the adventure.
I plan to release playable 'chapters' when they are ready. The first one should be ready by the end of April, but will come out with VCMI 1.5 update (it's crucial and you'll understand why when the moment comes). The next one should be done somewhere by June. The last one... we'll see.
Did you suspend your work due to lack of responses? I would like to play this mod on Christmas or New Year. I can even give you a short feedback later on Discord. Just don't make lame AI trailers again and just publish the mod.
I guess, in hindsight, trying to stir up some hype and then missing the self-appointed deadlines so badly must look pretty pathetic, huh.
The reasons for the ongoing delay are many. I still need to complete a few assets and the mod is still far from the testing phase.
But thanks for asking what's the holdup. I guess it's kind of motivating in a way. I'll try to give an update about the progress around the end of December, when VCMI 1.6 comes out.
Good. As I said, I might play it when it comes out. But I'm not going to comment on any trailers, previews, etc. because it's a waste of time. The same goes for edeksumo and his mod.
