Lord Cameron's Macro Challenge
I made some house rules for Homm3 I'd like to share:
1. If heroes exchange units/items both their movements must end.
Quote: 1.a Heroes may exchange units/items as many times as they wish while stood next to each other.
1.b Heroes may still interact with the spaces they are on or next to after trading (so long as they don't move from that spot)
2. You may not have more heroes than towns +1. (Garrisoned heroes count towards your limit) (Can't open prison if it would take you over limit)
3. You can have a maximum of 8 heroes (Garrisoned + not)
4. You may not use the wait button unless you have Tactics. You may only wait a number of times per round corresponding to your Tactics skill. (Basic=1, Advanced=2, Expert=3)
Quote: 4.b You may not otherwise use Tactics.
5. You may not split a stack of identical units unless you have Leadership. May only split them a number of times corresponding to your Leadership skill. (Basic=1 extra stack, Advanced=2, Expert=3)
A. You can only buy an ammo cart if you have Eagle Eye
B. You can only cast adventure spells if you have Learning
C. You can only cast Implosion if you have Fire Magic
D. Heroes with the First Aid skill may move after exchanging units in violation of rule 1. (Only the hero with First Aid)
Here is me testing them outhere (Youtube)
And here is the rules after my testing finished (spoilers if you are interested in the 5? videos and the process of how I got there):
These new rules are untested.
1. If heroes exchange units/items you must end your turn before moving another hero.
Quote: 1.a Heroes may exchange units/items as many times as they wish while stood next to each other.
1.b Heroes may still interact with the spaces they are on or next to after trading (so long as they don't move from that spot)
1.c Heroes may continue to move after trading as long as it took place in a castle.
1.d If you accidentally move after trading, move back to where the trade happened
2. You may not have more heroes than towns +1? (Garrisoned heroes don't count towards your limit)
Quote: a. Can't open prison if it would take you over limit
3. You can have a maximum of 5 heroes (Garrisoned don't count towards your limit.)
4. You may not use the wait button unless you have Tactics. You may only wait a number of times per round corresponding to your Tactics skill. (Basic=1, Advanced=2, Expert=3)
Quote: 4.a You may not otherwise use Tactics.
4.b Accidental waits are defends
5. You may not split a stack of identical units unless you have Leadership. May only split them a number of times corresponding to your Leadership skill. (Basic=1 extra stack, Advanced=2, Expert=3)
A. You can only buy an ammo cart if you have Eagle Eye
B. You can only cast adventure spells if you have Learning (or? navigation?)
C. Heroes with the First Aid skill can continue to move even after trades have occurred
D. May only cast Town Portal once per week. (Once. Not once per hero.)
E. You may not buy from a cartographer, but may cast view earth/view air while standing on cartographer with that hero.

Too many rules. I'm old, I tend to forget things.

That's part of what my testing is about. The viability of so many rules, and how to make them easier to remember. The first rule set definitely had me forgetting a bunch of them.
Edit: I tidied it up a bit because the formatting didn't carry over from my word document.
There is only five rules with the sub rules simply explaining them in more depth if confused.
The rules which start with letters (ABCD) are optional and not really related to the challenge proper.
