Improving Computer A.I. Is there way ?
Hi
We play with friends a lot and we include computer A.I. players in our mix to heat things up. Always at impossible level.
But even with the latest patches and stuff A.I. opponents usually either lose a lot of creatures to the neutrals, does not gather forces properly or straight out act bad in a Computer vs A.I. combat.
Is there a way to improve A.I. presence on adventure map or combat? I would like A.I. to inflict more damage for example in uneven battles to chip away human players sources. Use spells/skills a bit more properly.I want A.I. maybe understand some tactics and maybe not act the same way each time. A bit less unpredictable.
Or only way to strenghten A.I. some form of more cheating?
Is there a way to improve it? Or is it a "design choice" that creatures want to keep.
What are your thoughts about it?

Yes we've a program, esp. chess engine by people, not companies.. It promised common games in 20 years ago, and promise came chess, go, and other board game, but not PC games.. Another what? Promised AI computer, but over 20 years after ChatGTP, etc
Ok HoMM.. We've Human AI Mod (WoG/ERA) is directed Secondary Skills, heroes and skeleton bug, so AI tries Earth, Air, Logistics, Armorer, Offense, etc Heroes? More than a few heroes, some heroes are scouts, some heroes are strongs.. And then Advanced Class Mod (abbr. ACM) is also WoG/ERA.. It gives creatures and Primary Skills to AI.. So you meet over 50 PS, and your PS is in about 20.. It depends on game speed.. And then funnier creatures are many times larger than your scouts.. Thus AI scouts are taking your town, not strong heroes.. But you find a Fire is a important, etc So you needed Berserk.. It gives you change to little style, but MP-like, because MP changes so much style.. Some played the same style in AI and MP, I guess Lexiav, Kicferk (is right name, I don't remember now), GeorgeJungg, etc - or they know how to beat the game without Berserk..
Yes you can't realize AI without programs also bonuses are TP from the Cursed Land or the Grail, etc If you play WoG/ERA, so your skill will developed so much.. Later on you say no thanks SoD and HotA.. Because difficulty level is RoE campaign..
Try my Abandoned Colony (WoG/ERA) map, when AI bonuses haven't in a map, only you can use Human AI Mod, etc Result came good that noob players have difficulty.. Hmm Expert level.. I don't invent a Impossible yet.. First testings, playings, etc and then I publish a new map..

We do all the time thats the problem.A bit more unpredictable is an improvement. I want it to challenge us more.

I'm personally sick and tired of AI always casting Slow, Blind and damage spells, but they are very good spells, so I guess it's understandable, but it's also boring and predictable.

Alex showed us how to make the AI cast spells, even randomly, you just have to understand the IDA

Oh I know how to change it, it's easy, it can also be done in sptraits.txt and I have experimented with it in the past, though I went back to how it was originally for some reason...
It's also annoying AI can't cast Fire Wall, Quicksand, Remove Obstacle, Force Field and Land Mine. (I don't know how to change this, I would like to know, if anyone knows.)

This is one tick mark in HOTA. You can do that for neutrals but not for A.I. computer players as far as I know.

Something compatable with HOTA or base game would be nice.Maybe A.I. Mod should be something shared between builds.

Sounds like the main improvement of VCMI is AI so far.
Fingers crossed for template editor in the next release.
