The "Ashan!" answer includes "Axeoth!" as well. Sorry for any inconvenience.

What does this mean? I don't know if this is a language barrier issue, but "waiting for" means something that's not released yet. All of these are released. Waiting for right now would be Olden Era, Day of Reckoning, and Bulwark.

You have been waiting for.
1994
You have been waiting for a game to be released.
Now
You are waiting for a game to be released.
"You use it when an event of the past has an impact on the present"
Probably, "You had been waiting" is what I meant. Still, you cannot say "I had been waiting for the HotA", as you can be waiting for it right now.
Maybe "You were waiting for" is even closer to what I wanted to say. But it doesn't state that you actually ended your waiting.

Heroes IV is one that I remember waiting for. And when I first played it around 2002, I thought it was so cool that it must be the world's greatest discovery so far.
I miss those sweet times...

Heroes IV had an impressive OST. Played several campaigns back then even. It was fun but it felt so different and slightly odd for my definition of a Heroes game. So, I have never played it since. Still, I wish to. On Normal, just to experience its atmosphere being 20 years older.

Heroes III RoE was the first computer game I ever played besides Solitary. I felt in love and end up losing my job cause I almost didn't sleep for more then a month. So, when I heard there would be more of it I was 8 years old again, waiting for a delayed Christmas eve.
Now, on Heroes IV I'm the opposite, I embraced the changes full heart and missed them in every new version.
About playing Heroes IV: the AI can't beat the map on the hardest difficulties, so on even maps Hard is the hardest. Above that you will have some problems beating the creatures near your first town but once you can do it, the rest of the map will be a breese.

Heroes 4 for me.
H1-3 just happened and I loved them, but I felt I had seen everything that was there to see, so I was really looking forward to H4 and got it on the release day as soon as the shops opened. It became the greatest disappointment of my gamer life (the initially released version was unplayable, and the hastily delivered patch could not even be installed)

@bloodsucker
Playing at Advanced level and neutral can't move or guard a resource, etc
If you want to Champion level, you need to give 4x larger troops, thus mapmaker can make maps.. 4x? Troops in one week from town, an example of 2 Angels per week, or 4 Champions per week, 4x means 2 Angels x 4 = 8 Angels per week or 4x Champions x 4 = 16 Champions per week.. I've tested H4.. When AI started to play map.. My Return of the Avenger, so AI gets 3x.. Not impossible map, but Advanced level has funny.. Thus I made larger neutrals, so more AI troop bonus, but 3x enough well or we can't get a experience points, because AI eat all them.. The next Stronger AI, you needed to give experience points.. An example of heroes in least power gets 10000 exp. points per day, etc But main troop bonus.. Remember you give a gold, resources, thus AI can buy troops.. So 2 Angels x 4 = 8 Angels x 4000 gold, etc If you want to decent game..

The only Heroes game I was ever waiting for excitedly was Heroes VII.
You can see why I am a bit cynical about new releases at this point.

Ironically, I was waiting for Heroes V. And my expectations were exceeded. I was in love with new 3D style, for me, not having a PC back then, it was a blast and truly another dimension of immersion. As for Ashan! thing... This is the only post-classic era game that thrived despite new lore
