Greenland cannot stay the way that it is
The status quo for Greenland is totally moronic and archaic. It is a leftover relic of the Viking age. Something like nearly 1/5th of the world's fresh water is locked up in Greenland, not to mention its immense strategic value in the Arctic (which as it thaws in the coming years, will become even more important).
It needs to stop being a kingdom of Denmark. Denmark does not have the capacity to manage it responsibly and the current prime minister is FULL OF LIES to say that it can fulfill its responsibilities towards Greenland. No it can't. It is a borderline microstate. The budget for it literally does not and cannot exist. My uncle's fruit orchard is bigger than Denmark. It takes like 5 minutes to walk across Denmark. There are currently five people defending Greenland, and four of them are husky dogs. The human is armed with a plastic harpoon.
If it doesnt want to fall prey to US expansionism, then it needs to work out some kind of realistic alternative, because the current situation is stupid and unsustainable and frankly dangerous/irresponsible. Trump is correct when he calls Greenland a security risk (lesser known people have been pointing this out for years and years and people just ignored it), but nobody wants to admit to the obvious because of the person who is saying it.
Edit: Also, there needs to be a mandatory renaming. Greenland becomes Iceland and Iceland becomes Greenland. No referendum allowed.

Well, that's your opinion but not an argument. Whereas anyone is entitled to have any opinion which s/he wants an argument comes with a proof.
Greenland is fine as it is in my eyes.
There's no need to say more. Still, I would like to point out, that acquiring Greenland by any unlawful way, will be the end of NATO and of what remained from the West pact. Maybe not in an instant, just the beginning of downfall. And USA itself is in much weaker position than it thoughts.
But that's likely to happen anyway. Rift is getting bigger at any moment.

Denmark needs to let go of it and some sort of agreement needs to be worked out with other European nations. The responsible thing would have been to do this 30 years ago, but that is water under the bridge.

Stop trolling. This one is way too obvious and should give a penalty (for being just too unsubtle).

something secret is hidden there under ice...
USA uses military base...they can use Greenland like in WW2 propably...no need to invasion or changing status...if mining of resources there is possible without harming environment USA and other countries could buy the resources on fair price and fair competition in mining...

Unsubtleness. The silent killer. If only there was more subtlety.
Also, other than maybe making fun of Denmark for being a total of 12 people and attempting to defend a mini-continent by itself with a dog sled team, there isn't anything inflammatory about this. It is a completely legitimate question. Greenland is a massive security hole in a part of the world that will only grow in strategic importance.
Why exactly is Greenland a part of the Kingdom of Denmark in 2026? Why wasn't something done about this much sooner? Don't you think it needs to be sequestered with like... an actual plan?

I subscribe. You are like that kid in the classroom that always has a "clever" come back and end's up not letting the others learn.
I came here in panic of how the European Politicians were finding a loophole to let Trump free to do whatever he wants, as it has been the rule and it's just you trolling.

Full of peacefull noblists administration.
Of course empty area visited only by vikings since 1000 years is lawfully viking controlled. Danemark is Viking state. All is right. Problem is eg. with grabbed parts Mexico and Texas. 50% of Mexico territory is not Mexico state. IT WAS NOT empty Arctic terittory.

That is one possibiliity.
Or maybe it is because my memory goes back further than 1 year, which these days basically makes me a guru.
And what I mean is: there have been rational and legitimate complaints about the condition of Greenland for quite some time, and these complaints do not affect just Greenland but the entire Atlantic part of the world. It isn't as if there was joy and harmony and then Donald J Trump arrives on the scene and suddenly everything goes to crap.
The EU has a 100% earned reputation of dragging its ass on things, and that needs to change. So in other words: do something about Greenland and do it promptly. And when I say "something" I mean something other than protesting and holding up pieces of paper on a sidewalk while burrowing your brows. Something non-useless. Please and thank you.

The irony is that, since for the Don there is no climate change, Chinese and Russian ships shouldn't even be able to find their way to Greenland.
In any case NATO is the organisation responsible for guarding the interests of the pact states in that area. NATO. Denmark and by extension Greenland are part of that, so Greenland is under the same umbrella than, say Lithunia or Poland.

If we let Trump have Greenland, you know Redland and Blueland are next on the chopping block. We have to draw the line here.

Nah, it's just a fog.
US Army has officially only around 7k soldiers trained to fight in the harsh cold conditions and they are much worse than Finns. So, if USA is hoping to defend Greenland better than NATO it's a nonsense because without EU North NATO states support, they can just sit in the place like a duck.
Mining the rare minerals is also likely an economical utopia. And it would be a disaster for nature too.
They have already bases here, so there's basically nothing to gain.
The fog is stable though, like Trump's genius.

Starting to think everything is a cash grab.
His goal (besides constant attention) here is to leave NATO because he doesn't like paying for anything.
The mining/resorts is for the $
Because he is a failed businessman who only makes money by scams and non-payment.

I don't see how he failed, what I see is that he succeeded basically in everything he planned or wished, including hot chicks. Very few can claim that.

Donald's legacy is going to be Sensitive Drama Queen maximus pondus.
Also, guy who repeatedly promised to turn the economy into an unstoppable juggernaut and consistently failed. Probably because he isn't actually a good businessman.
