Because I have researched this topic extensively, and that is the discovery and accepted fact of Mayanists.

Update June 25:

Anyone hear about the soccer-field sized asteriod that missed the earth by abot 7,000 miles the other day? Are we entering the beginning of a cycle of "near misses?" Although I do not believe that we are, this still shows that we are blind, to miss something like that. Perhaps, someday, in the far future, our own hubris will be our downfall?

I think its more likely that we have been having "near misses" all the time since the formation of the Earth and it's only recently that we've been able to detect them.

I also don't think we're "blind" to miss something the size of a soccer field from 7,000 miles away.  Considering the volume of space that is 7,000 miles away from the Earth I'm rather shocked that we managed to see something that small.  I doubt I could see a soccer field from 100 miles away, much less 7,000.  Admittedly, we have telescopes and whatnot, but unless one is pointed at the exact spot, you're not going to notice stuff that small that far away.

About the whole Norse Doomsday thingy. The Norse went to a lot of trouble to dictate exactly what happens in the great battle of the gods. They even had a name for it, "Ragnarok."

Basically, the Fenris-wolf will escape, kill Odin, The All-Father and then be killed by Odin's son, Vidar.  The Midgard serpent will spew poison over the world and then be killed by Thor who will die from the poison. Loki and Heimdall will destroy each other. The earth will sink into the ocean, the sun will turn black, and the sky will burn.  Only two will survive, everyone else, even the gods will die.  The names of the couple who survive are Lif and Lifthrasir and they will repopulate a new Earth.

It is horribly complicated and precise and I have stated only a tiny bit of what happens.

In response to Mysia, I've decided that I don't like Norse Mythology. It's too predictable

In response to Bort, I disagree. I hold that at this stage of technology, humanity is blind not to notice something like that that's a third the distance of the moon away from us. I'm not saying this because of the asteroid's itself size, but because of the damage it can inflict.

Most likely, if it struck Earth, it would hit in the ocean. Still, that would cause a fairly large tsunami, one that I'm sure coast-dwelling people would not appreciate. If it hit on land, it would most likely not hit any area with civilization, but it would certainly send out shockwaves, and make a fairly large crater. Last summer, I went to Arizona and saw a crater there. It was large enough to fit, oh, the entire research facility next to it in it at least 10 times. If this asteroid hit earth, it would make an even larger crater.

WESLEY WESLEY

I would just like to add, it is Wesley's type which has made Aculious leave.
For one's who remember my revelation's about wesley, he is growing stronger. Now that he's been here under a quiet alias, he seem's less capable of carrying out the evil one's work.
It's funny, I dont even know if Wesley will reveal himself yet. I know not much of the organization of the darkside of rapture. W/in HC however, wesley is the one who introduce's people to.. they're mind's, door's, and choice's.
I wish you all luck. Those who dont know they're place yet.

(what does Wesley have to do w/ this thread?)
Ok... got more info, and prophecies.

The Iranians, or Zoroastrian, had a prophecy that stated roughly that a comet, called Gochihr (they had a name for it! funny), would crash into the Earth.  There is no specific date that I am aware of as to when this will happen.  But when Gochihr hits Earth its "fire and halo" will melt all the minerals and metals and the molten metal river will flow across the Earth.

All the sinners, released from Hell, and the rightous will swim across this river, the rightous will simply feel like they are passing thru warm water, but the sinners will feel agony as their sins are stripped from them.  The world will then start all over again, and will not be destroyed again.
(moral: don't *ever* name a comet "Gochihr")
Another something to verify my idea of the comet crashing into Earth.

And Xenophanes about how the Norse mythology is to dictated... well there are many cultures who have battles/events that happen like that, just none of them come to mind at the moment, darn.

Celfious--are you saying that I'm Wesley? If so, I SCOFF AT YOU!

Craig Hack, have you ever considered that your neighbor doesn't, well, like you?

None of the names come to mind at the moment, Mysia? Nescis? That thing about the Iranians though is interesting, but I didn't know they had their own religion. Is it some sort of Mesopotamian myth, or am I just ignorant?

Ok, what did you just say Malkia? It was horribly hard to read due to the massive amount of spelling errors... Ah well.

And Xenophanes, you were correct in saying that the myth I mentioned earlier is Mesopotanian myth.  As I said it is from some ppl called Zoroastrians or something like that, but that was in what is today the Iranian area.  So actually yes it would be Mesopotanian, I think.

Malkia, your prophecy is obsolete. The two towers are gone.

Actually, 250 years is the maximum amount of time. The Jewish Messiah is supposed to come earlier than that, ergo within the next 250 years. Well within.

That's my point!

It will always be 250 years........

Why is it always eons away and not 3 years from now?!?

Otherwise 250 years from now he will be expected to actually turn up, if you believe that then you must believe in the tooth fairy!

If I was a bookie and could live to 300 I would put everything I had on there being a no show!
