new idea for expansion

WHen you get Troops Of a Different Alignment (I dont know Heroes 4 so im gonna use  units from H3 As an Example)

Say you have an army of this

Arch Devil-Inferno
Arch Angel- Castle
Lich- Necropolis
Zombie-Necropolis
Unicorn- rampart
Swordsman- Castle
Hobgoblin- Stronghold


Those are troops from 5 different alignments
say During battle. No Morale Applys. you are Facing Wood Elves

Lich Attacks Wood Elf.
One Wood Elf Perishes.


then This Happens

Lich Goes Mad and Turns on His Allys!
Lich Attacks Swordsman


Swordsman Retailiates!

Then This happens.

Unicorn goes mad and Turns on his Allys!
Unicorn Attacks Hobgoblin


And So On and So Forth.

Now The skill To Prevent this is this.

Basic Organization.
In Battle this could happen

Half Of Unicorn Stack Turns On its allys!

And Advanced Organization could be this

One Quarter of Lich Stack Turns on its allys!

And Expert Organization Prevents it From happening. Period.

I Dun know H4...And they Dont make H3 Expansions, I Had to use a H3 example. but they should do that for H4.

Now Creatures of the same alignment wont Turn on each other at all. And Morale and Organization are two different things, Say you have Expert Morale, but none Organization. Their Morale will  Be Great. but they still turn on each other. And Vice Versa.

In Heroes 4 you have a big penalty to morale for mixing troops that don't belong together, which makes the troops likely too freeze in battle. If a troop freezes it will do 25% less damage in the round it freezes. Freezing will also cause the troop to act after all other troops have acted.

I say troops because it applies the same way for heroes and creatures.

Your "Organization" sounds like a global effect to me, so to be of effect then the Player would have to be associated with an Alignment, and it's not so at the moment. Without assigning an Alignment to a player, you will have to keep the effects within an army.

If I recall correctly then Age of Wonders have some form of system where players have alignment,  towns you've captured belonging to enemy will produce less and is prone to rebellion and so on..

I think the organization skill could fall somewhere in tactic's. A leadership bonus. Not only do you give a + morale modifier, but other alignment's would have a smaller negative moral effect!

You know, that's actualy a great idea. I personaly would make it an addition to the Leadership skill (which is a branch from tactics).

I believe you need to specify how this Organization works. Is is global for player or local to a player?

Morale is very suitable to be a factor here. You've paid to hire the creatures so the normal would be that they are loyal. Morale in Heroes 4 reflects how happy the creature is with the companions in the army.

You don't say which creature, should be able to turn on which creature and when. So how do you decide how and when this happens.

Will Peasant attack other Peasants in the own stack? In another Stack? Will they kill a Knight Hero without you getting a chance to do anything? Is this happenings in towns, when moving or only during battle?

Dar's idea.
1: In the game, opposing alignment's fight eachother.
2: Organization as a skill, which would prevent this.

Make's sence dar., Bring's a little realisim in my point of view.

Your PRIME idea is that basicly, death not getting along well with life to the point of on field battle.

Bringing in an organization "Skill" would be a crappy skill. People wouldn't waste a slot, just so they can have oposing alignment's without fighting eachother.

My reconstruction of your idea: (sorry lol)

Angle, crusader and devil in one army together.
-5 morale is taken from the angel & crusader From the devil
-5 morale is taken from the devil, by the angel and crusader.

What happens
The devil has a bad morale turn. This is because he's fighting with life alignment. The devil attacks the angel

Formula-
If morale is -5, there's a 50% chance the devil will attack the angel/crusader when the devil has a bad morale turn.

Solution.
Leadership skill modification.
SKill Level 1: Not only +1 to morale, but 20% chance oposing attackers will back down
SKL2: -40%
SKL3: -60%
SKL4: -80%
SKL5: -100%

Outcome
With leadership skill at level 3 (For example)
Initiative, bad/god morale turn configuring: Considering now Morale is at -2.
+3 with Expert leadership, and -5 from oposing alignment's

The devil has a bad morale turn. Devils morale is -2, so a roll of 20% will make devil go to attack.
Since Leadership is at expert, there's a 60% chance he'll follow your leadership, instead of his thought's to mess with angel.

That's the reconstruction of dar's idea.
The reason I modified it as an incentive only to a secondary skill (leadership, bracnched from tactics) is 2 reasons.
1: It make's sence that leadership abilites would affect what your troops do
2: A stand alone skill as organization would be a slot waste. Even secondary..

Someone would make a thread talking about how bad it is.

As for the "organization skill", I think it would make for a really random battle, maybe too random for my liking. Also, having good morale without good organization could get really nasty for your own army (for ex. your ogre magi turning on your dendroids two times/doing more damage). That would make the choice of leadership/organization skills an "either both or none" decision. Which I also would not like.
