I fail to see how our "equality" during the Mexican American War justified the land-grab. Once again, economics have mostly to do with the direction of the tide of humanity across that border. And once again, it is their own old territory into which they are flooding, The United States certainly has the economic edge, but one must recall how we got that way. We seem to think ourselves superior despite every head-start in first-world economics. I really do think we should take second look at our own arrogance in our pot-shots at second-and third-world counties who did not have those same head-start advantages in world economics, who are trying still to catch up. It people are taking shots at Americans, perhaps it is because of our own short-sightedness in the way we percieve and express ourselves and behave toward other countries in the global arena. Then again, as I am Native American, perhaps I lend too jaded an eye to the United States.
Sorry if I bothered you by not making myself clear. Thanks to you all for letting me participate. This has been stimulating.

Maybe but for one thing: America didn't fight all the time of the war. We sort of stepped into the war in the middle of it.
Also we now have nuclear weapons (that we didn't all of WW2) that would seriously hurt you guys. Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Heh....It's probably cuz like 90% of your politicians are corrupt and money/power-hungry...and they would do anything for some....And we also know George Bush isn't any better than the rest.... We know he just basically wants to own EVERYTHING....probably gonna try to get all the oil or some BS like that i dunno but it's obvious he aint right....just look at what happened since he's president...9-11....that iraq bull$hit (wich makes absolutely NO sense considering USA has about 20 times more nuclear war heads than Iraq could ever dream of)
And another thing!!!! Some Americans know feck all about Canada and we live right next to em! Some think we live in Igloo's and stuff...We even have a TV show where this guy goes to USA and says a bunch of dumb things not true about us and the americans beleive it! its sooooooooooooooooooooo funny to see such idiots! (no offense you ppl from USA im just making fun of the ppl that they seen on that show lol)

The 4 year period I mentioned covered america's entire involvement. It took 4 extremely powerful (on the world stage anyway) nations including america to take down 1 european one (arguably the most powerful european one at that).

True that's why this topic is garbage.
And even if all the Europeans combined (which is a big "if)
It would still be a huge war considering we have the best navy,air force, technology ect. And the most nukes.
But fortunately that probably wouldn't happen because you guys are supposedly our allies.
And why do you call us "the land of fools?"
It takes you all of your countries. Every single one of them to even stand a chance against us. If were fools that says a multitude about your countries.

This topic is about re-educating the (grand-grand childrens of the) fools we've sent overseas who actually 'think' that a joke about the foolishness of some of the Americans could end in a war.

Oh screw it what do I care?
