Well said Peacemaker, but don't hold the Iriqouis quite so high. The American system of government was not all from th Iriqouis. The British and the Romans had a big part in it too. Senate is Roman, and a British author, I can't remember his name, wrote about modern democracy.
Fromm what you were saying, you must be part of one of the "Civilized" tribes of the east. As I recall, they wanted to trade with the newly formed U.S. But thanks to Andrew Jackson, that didn't happen. So came the Trail of Tears. That was wrong.
I know a lot about history also. This thread seems to be all about the stereotypical American. There are a few like and it seems Peacemaker that are not as you say we are.

Yes Wolfman, I agree that the Iroquois were not the only source there. The way I presented it may have come across as somewhat misleading. I would be the last to argue that there are elements of the Roman Empire that have survived through us and are alive and well here in the U.S.
But it is late here, and we will talk more later...

And that's probably right. Coz people like wolfman and peacemaker aren't that funny, since they're not funny;-)(Lousy formulated...)
I am afraid to say that the Norwegians aren't fitted to teach 'Treatment of Native Tribes' since we weren't too nice to the Lapps, either...
Don't think any European country was, really...
But we could teach the (stereotype american(like LichKing)) about self irony and such, like not taking yoursleves so seriously...

Wow, what an interesting thread.
Europeans really think that need to, or can re-educate/reprogram the American people. But there is one huge flaw in the plan. Americans will never and more importantly can never be taught anything from a European simply because,
WE ARE BETTER THAN YOU!
It is a simple fact that you all have somehow neglected to mention.
Why are Americans better than you, you may ask? It is simple, it is our birthright. While your grandfathers were stuck in their ruts, unwilling to take a chance, unable able to speak out for themselves, content to be led by corrupt monarchs and living through the imagined glory of past victories. Our grandfathers discarded those things. They pulled themselves out of the mud covered hovels begged, borrowed and stole in order to create a better life for themselves and their progeny. The courageous came to America, the adventuresome, and the forward thinking people, they came to escape the tyranny of backward thinking people that is a plague on Europe to this day. These wonderful pioneers didn't just come from Europe, many came from Asia, and when America saw that we were not racially diverse enough we extended a kind invitation to our African brothers to join our giant melting pot.
So you Europeans go ahead and imagine that you are still somehow relevant in the world, and we Americans will go back to ignoring your existence, unless we want to go on vacation.

Don't forget that these guys are so jealous of us that they are almost to the point of keeling over dead with high blood pressure induced heart attacks and strokes.
And don't forget the rules of the game.
1. They wish they were us, but we can't act like we know that.
2. Conduct yourself in a manner which makes them believe that their hopes of being intellectually and morally superior to us are achievable.
3. Under no circumstances let it be known that we already practically own their countries and they don't even know it. (The fact that they are all using Americanized English here instead of their own native languages is proof enough of that.)
And before the rest of the world flames me to bits over this post: This post was made as a jest in the fun spirit of this thread and nothing in it is serious. If you can't take it, don't dish it out

Mmmmmm...no, when Europeans went to Africa there was already slavery going on there. And the Africans sold their slaves to the Europeans. That is how the slavery started, so don't blame the Americans because you Europeans brought it here.

hmm...yes wolfman,I know that Europeans started slavery.
But since I am part of a nation that has been discriminated against,attacked,enslaved and tortured for about 800 years,I feel that I'm free of this guilt.
Also,I know some Africans sold their slaves,but I also know that if the slave merchants didn't get a full ship they landed and on their own kidnaped Africans.This enraged the African chiefs that used to sell slaves,cuz they weren't gettin enethin from it.So Americans,Europeans and Africans are guilty of slavery.I'm free to say that my nation is 999% free of this guilt,being slaves ourselves.

hmm...to alot of people it seemed that the ppl dropped off in the New World have evolved a different way,this thread was made to get them right back on the correct path

My ancestors are guilty of nothing. My ancestors didn't come to the US until the 1880's. That is why Blacks who say the government should compensate them for their ancestors slavery is stupid. They diserve nothing.

We did evolve in a different way. However, to remedy this we would have to regress on the evolutionary scale by about 50 years or so.
Or would you rather us just stop and wait for the rest of the world to catch up to us?
