Actually Jb is correct, however there is also an angle he missed. The majority of H3er's thoguht H4 was gonna be exactly like H3 with chaining and game design etc. They were figuring that H4 was gonna be a SUPER mega expansion of H3. More creatures, more towns, more artifacts, I even remeber the wish lists, of a 3rd level to map, called the heaven level. SO would be normal level , subterrain level, and a skyheaven level. I remember wishes of not jsut 1 upgrade for creatures but 2 upgrades for each, for example, Giant --> Titan --> God. So when H4 came out and they gave the game a more real true feeling by removing the super unrealistic chaining and evolved the design totally, the H3er's got plssed and started to rebel. I was one of the initial rebellers. Until I actually played the game and the longer I played it the better became, after about 3 months of playing it I really got hooked.
Now I agree there are still LOTS about heroes 4 that sucks. Heroes in battles are kewl idea, BUT they are way to strong. Heroes need to ONLY support your army, NOT BE the army lol. 3do had brain fart there. Only 4 levels of Creatrues has got to be the most horrifying part of the game. I like the idea of making a choice of if you buy this creature then this one isnt available, but do that idea with 8 creatures. They also need to find a way to make level 1 and level 2 creatures important. I guess if they take Heroes off field in H5 then they will be usefull again.
So anyways, to sum it up. H4 is new and evolved version of H3. NOT a Super expansion. Only the players willing to have a change and that new challenge are able to see past that and see the good in H4.
Just my opinion.

NWC needs to figure out how to merge the H3 and H4 camps, without regressing back to H3 just to appease the H3 players. I have never played H3 multi, but I am pleased with how H4 multi seems to be catching on. There are a lot of cool, new players in Gamespy these days and TOH has a lot of registered ppl. I dont think it is a black and white issue. Take the best parts of both games and make H5 right?
P.S. - Is the increased transfer times due to more data because more variables and not just some programming mistake?

It is a programming 'mistake' more like someone who was working to do multiplayer was not skilled enough to really do it properly.
As an example, C&C generals realtime strategy game is played online; the initial data transfer between the 2-8 players is about 5 times in bytes what is transferred for a homm4 turn. And the data transfer takes about 5 seconds for C&C!

They are different games, both good.
In the future I will delete any crap outta u guys and this thread is closed.
I tried to turn it positive, but noone went for it.

H4 was a disappointment to me (yes i do own it and do play it) It was and is unballanced of course i have yet to see a 3doh game that was 100% ballanced. Of course i got tired of H3 and really hated gamespy so basically im hoping no lemme rephrase IM PRAYING that H5 will bring the best of both worlds...
I think tho i have played equal amount of games on both h3 and h4 now seeing how Rous loves the game so we play hotseat when time allows.
