Inconsistancy
I used to understand what a QP deserved. It seems like they are reluctant most of the time to give a bonus. But then other times, I'm wondering if they have been drinking a few too many beers.
You remember that time, Hexa when Dar_Kraven and Andi were doing the flame wars. And I made the post "Hey children! Were going to learn something new today..."You said you weren't sure if you were going to give me a QP. Maybe this didn't deserve a QP. But you sure seemed reluctant to give one. You said, "I almost did. I'll think about it."
If you remember what the FAQ/Rules say. The top 2% of all posts are to be awarded a QP. This excludes word games obviously, but when was the last time an award was given in tavern for a good toss? They can be really funny too and receive nothing. Unless it's Bort when Lith is around. 
If you look at the better threads in tavern, I notice some QP's, but shouldn't the good contributors receive QP's even if they never had one single QP worhty post. They certainly deserve a bonus for contribution to the thread. For example Private Hudson receive one for his 500 posts in Attack Iraq these weren't spam either. Lengthy well-thought posts. Mods should do this in threads like Temple of Worship or Please Only Naked Girls. But this is when someone really stands out in that thread and deserves a QP.

The post made by Cat, I think is better than some of her other bonuses. It is at least as funny as the post made by Bort directly after it, which btw received a bonus.

This was a one-laugher. I guess Lith really likes Bort's sense of humor. But this was a spin-off of:

This thread was very popular at the time and was loads of fun. Where's the QP? If it wasn't for this thread, then Oldtimer Takes a Bath wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny.

This is way better than Oldtimer Takes a Bath.
I wish I could find this, but I can't. The original thread, Once Upon A Time. Craig_Hack should get a QP for his tragic and increasingly predictable plot twists. lol He made the thread into a comedy than just your regular story. Had he not killed of those people the thread would have been completely different.

The QPs in "Which is better?" and "Oldtimer Takes a Bath" are really "strange"...
I will not coment any other... havent ever gained/lost a QP in a year... do not have reasons to thanks/complain.

Thing about QPs, their tricks to make people think theres something to gain. Dont forget the things that matter when your paying attention to stars.
And oldtimer, your not the only one but why do you insist on it seeming near so?

Will extra qps:
a. impress members of the opposite sex?
b. increase your earning power?
c. swell your genitals to titanic proportions?
d. help you to achieve inner peace?
I think we all know that the answer to all 4 questions is : yes, yes, yes and yes!
I often go to modeling conventions and casually mention to the young ladies that I am bort, he with 4 red stars on HC. Needless to say, they go weak in the knees and are on their backs with their legs up in the air in a matter of seconds. Oldtimer often does the same, and damn him if his 5 red stars doesn't allow him to steal all the best ones and leave me with the scraps. The reason Shae is never here anymore is that she's far too busy with all of her numerous 5 star seeking suitors.
Every red star after the 3rd multiplies your income by 10. True story. Brings me up to a grand total of $10 a year.
A swift glance and myself and OT shows that c. is most certainly true, although in my case it was a pre-existing condition.
As for d., well I'd tell y'all the secret of true happiness, but we're forbidden from telling anyone below "Responsible."
People... this... is... an... online... message board. The cash value of a QP is $0.00, E0.00, Y0.00. (Strangely enough, it is actually worth one of those giant stone disks that the Yap islanders use). The amount of respect that a QP gets you is 0. The amount of sex that a QP gets you is 0 (except in OT's case, but she was kind of a skank). The amount of happiness that a QP gets you is 0, less, actually because people follow you around demanding explanations for them. The total, complete value of a QP, counting sentimental value and everything else is diddly over squat.

bah
if someone deserves alot of QP:s here then it is bort.
Same goes for Oldtimer and cat.
I concider those 3 the most creative posters here at tavern (next to me off course) and they sure deserve those red stars.
Sure some QP:s might been given easy to them, but some of their posts also really deserves a QP but havent been given out to them.
So in the long run i think bort, OT and cat sure has the number of QP:s that they deserve.
Though redsox sure has some points IMO, i hardly believe that the current QP % number is 2. More like 0,5-1%.
Also do i believe which ive pointed out in another thread that there should be a place here where you can see the last 10/20 QP:s which has been given/removed.
IMO thats a step forward.
And if nothing else, i believe its my 12th "improvement suggestion" that gets rejected so soon i will reach the "unlucky" 13... maybe that will just be my number then
EDIT: wow i just noticed... ive reached 2300 posts now and with my current QP average it should only take me 100 more posts to get one. Because i have had this average of 1QP/600 posts so far... so with some luck i might get a 3rd star under my beautiful avatar so i could get the scrap from the scrap that bort rejects

Well of course it's fav how do you think people can get points for practically every thread they make hehe.
Here Soxfan why dont you put a bikini on also & post it on here & i bet you, you will get as many +QP as all of Borts tossed threads where he got QP from hehe.

I'm just impressed that I have so many spin-off series (see 2-x's post), making me potentially the most hip happening trendsetter in the biz...

true hexa, wouldnt mind you finding some of these quality posts of mine (cant be too hard since they are basically everywhere ) and give me enough stars to get the floodprotect out of the way though. Been talking to val about it too and getting stars was obviously only way to do it.
That i would appreciate.
Because i cant think of one more thing that annoys me more than the friggin floodprotect (except soccerfevas thread posting frenzy then ) here at HC.
